due to shit weather, have not used my bikes since end on november. before I but them to bed! I change the oil and filter, and have started them 3 times in say 6 weeks. now! this is the question I hope some one can shed some light on. I have the zzr1400 2008 model and the gtr1400 2010 model. there both in the same garage, and both started at the same time and both run till the fans cut in. I have noticed, the gtr1400 is showing signs of condensation in the oil sight glass. but the zzr1400 dose not. the zzr1400 is slightly different engine. but surely, the principle of condensation is the same. the only explanation I can come up with is, the zzr1400 is a more highly tuned engine and reachers its temp hotter and faster than the gtr1400, which evaporates the condensation! the only way I could remove the condensation on the gtr1400. was to run the bike till the fans cut in, then remove the oil filler cap for a few hours. so just courious to why the gtr1400 suffers with condensation more than the zzr1400. and just woundering if any body else as had this problem. either way! I do not like the idear of condensation in my pride and new! which in effect is water in my oil. the next time the gtr1400 gets started, untill the warmer weather set in, is when I take it for a dam good ride out!
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

You might want to pass it by your dealer. Could be the seal on the oil filler cap letting moisture in. More likely its the fact the bike hasn't warmed up fully. Ideally take it for a good 20 min spin and see what the state is after that. You could take the oil filler cap off, let the engine idle and watch the stream burn off. Just make sure you're not splattering oil everywhere. Also make sure you don't let foreign materials in e.g dirt

If I'm going to let me bike idle, its normally for 30 mins just to male sure everything gets a good run

The other thing to consider would be to buy a dehumidifier ... I have had mine for years, bought it from B+Q for about £100 and its in the garage plugged in and on from Sept round to about March / April when the weather improves.
It keeps the garage " dry " with my bike kit and tools and other bits and pieces .. an excellent bit of kit. A bit pricey perhaps just to cure a misty dial but you know what I mean !
