i commute to from chichester to southampton on a daily basis,i filled my DIESEL  peugeot 308 up the other morning as the low fuel light came on & it cost me a staggering £83.13 to fill it up,DAY LIGHT ROBBERY,if i were to run the GTR in more often it'll still cost me a fortune in petrol,it may pay me to get a smaller bike to use for work, any suggestion's on a cheap to run, reliable bike, that may suit my need's,the other option is to look for a job nearer home, not that easy at the moment,as there's not alot out there.

I think you're going to have to just grin and bear it. My diesel Mondeo costs £90+ per refill, that lasts a month approx just going to and from work.

O.C.

A modern scooter seems to be a popular choice these days, I think they're quite economical and the bigger engined ones can hold their own in most traffic.

It just depends on whether you would feel that your street cred might suffer

Many years ago, a cleaner at the place I worked kept going on and on about how great the fuel consumption was on his mate's Honda 90 step through, and when he had saved up enough he was going to buy one to replace his push bike. Well he bought one, and every few days one of the lads in the workshop would put a couple of cup fulls of petrol in his tank. He went on and on about how he was doing 250 miles a week and it had only used half a gallon of petrol each month. That was until he caught someone putting petrol in his tank one day.

Tapps,
Do like I do, use your GTR to commute to/from work. OK your fuel bill will not reduce but you will arrive with a big grin on your face every day plus it will take you only half the time given the traffic on the M27!
Better to be old and grey than the alternative!

Just because many do it does not make it right. Just because many think it does not make it true.
