Hi folks,
I'm heading down to Darlington soon for a couple of days and I don't know the area well. Can anyone recommend some good roads in the area fro putting the beast through it's paces. I would probably just punch in the address into tom-tom and avoid motorways but that's not guaranteed to give me any bike friendly roads so if anyone has a recommendation I'd love to hear it.

Cheers

B1257 from Stokesley to Helsmley.  I loved that road but there are a few 50 limits

or how about Darlington to Barnard Castle then westward up Teesdale through Middleton Teesdale, then B6277 to Alston. **

Then Alston A689 eastward down Weardale to Junction with A68 to get back to Darlington

NOTE **  if you go to Alston you'd be daft not to have run over Hartside pass on the A686 over to Penrith and back up the same road to Alson again.

Make sure you punch in the post code for Hartside Cafe, just Google it, well worth a visit there.
