O.C.

I really, no I mean REALLY don't like to get my 1975 Kawasaki H2c wet......its a show bike (I also ride it) and it takes forever to get/keep properly clean.

Yesterday was its MOT day, so I waited for a good spell in the weather and rode it down to the MOT station, it was bloody marvelous, all that smoke, wonderful sound, and bags and bags of character on a nice sunny day, people even gave me the thumbs up when they saw the bike.  The bike passed its test ~ as it should, and paperwork sorted I set off on the 10 mile or so run back home.

About 3 miles from home black clouds loomed and the heavens opened, rain, wind, hail and road grime, by the time I got home the sun was shining and I was in the kind of mood that wasn't very pretty.

3 hours later and she looks good again, thank god for my air compressor and the will to see the bike back in pristine condition

Now when is the next good weather due  :biker3:

Rog I am just the same as you, The GTR is sat in the garage  looking like brand new and I am dreading looking through the window in the morning. It will more than likely be  :shit: weather, but I will still go out , then face a major cleaning job on returning to the Dales Palace.
What would you rather be   or a wasp?

Unfortunately no...well not until later maybe. I've got an engineering mate calling first thing to helicoil an engine casing drain plug on a Triple, which is a fiddly job to do with the engine in situ

I did manage to get a ride out (briefly) yesterday to that lovely cafe in Bootle..nice cake and good coffee, but you know that  p.s it was bloody cold on the West coast road...... brrrrrrrrrr

Where are you going to ?

Bugger me, hows this for a coincidence.I had already left this morning when you posted, so I am  reading your post on my return from my day out  At about 7 pm.  I left early to meet some mates up at the "Bridge" We decided to go up the west coast, and guess where we stopped for a lovely lunch !!!!!!yes that cafe at Bootle, and we had a great roast beef and Yorkshire pudding lunch. We then went up the 595, and onto Santon bridge, Eskdale Green and over Duddon fell, followed by the Wrynose pass, and back to Ambleside. Fantastic wall to wall sunshine, and as clear as I can ever remember it, Looking out to sea from the 595 the Isle of Man looked like you could reach out and touch it. Yet another coincidence, as we sat having our lunch in the cafe, in walked GTR Nev, who had called in for a meal with his family. No biking for him today then. All in all a great day, fantastic weather, riding a bike in some of the most spectacular scenery on the planet,on roads that us bikers pray for. And some great company Peter, and Gordon. Oh the food was spot on as well.     Great day.
