Zumo 550 map upgrade time ?

How old is your map?
I tried to upgrade  the Western Europe map and it goes away happily for over an hour downloading files and when it comes to the installation it tells me to choose a smaller map because there isn't enough free space to install the new one. 
So I checked the website and it confirms that the Zumo 550 as well as other models don't have enough memory for the new maps and if you want the lot you need to buy a SD card and use the MapInstall tool to install extra maps on the SD card.
SD cards are cheap enough and I got a 4GB one some time ago for less than 10 quid.

I think the unit will support a 32gb SD card, you saying all the maps wont fit on there?

No. What I'm saying is that without an extra SD card it won't fit.
The capacity of the Zumo 550 without extra SD is only 2GB.

I recently bought a couple of Class 10 32gb SDHC cards from a company called CCL Computers at Bradford for £27 each for a digital camera.  They used to be almost £80 each. They've come down consideraby in the last couple of years.

ok good tip, maybe i will get an sd card at the ready incase I have that problem, although I could miss out all of spain and just add that if i ever go
