Easy peesy, The forward facing grey button on the left hand cluster controls the ECO mode, after starting the engine hold the switch in for between 1 and 3 seconds and the eco text will appear on the dash, thats it away ya go. Do remember though that when you have stopped the engine, fuel, brew etc you will have to put it back into eco as before.
thanks for that  just about to read up on it, so when you stop engine it cuts the eco mode off? so this eco mode can't be selected while riding, or is there a set speed it can be engaged?
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

You can select at any time as long as ignition is on.

2 things..

I got 237miles out of the tank the other day - going into London and back home again twice then to the petrol station.  That's 55miles each way, plus 17miles, so 5 cold starts.  Traffic, filtering and and an average of 70mph + 10% + 2 mph officer :-).....

I could only get 22 litres of fuel back in, so knowing I've got 23.5 litres in the tank before I recon I had another 20-25miles to go....  That's over 260miles to the tank.... But I would only push it that far if I had a jerry can.

At a guess on a lucky day, Non stop, you might be able to push it to 270-275...... :-)

Oh forgot to mention..... Switchable Eco mode won't work above 100mph, although you can turn it on below 100, then it stays on.....  But you can't turn it on above 100....

Neil, any idea how many miles you did after the flashing fuel warning? Reason I ask is I routinely do between 25 and 35 miles after the flashing, and have never got more than 21.2l in. I reckon the bike would do nearly 100 miles on 'reserve' with a careful right hand and a complete disregard for getting stranded roadside.

Martin.
65,000 miles now. Loving this bike.

Did you put a bigger tank on yours?
Otherwise since the GTR only has a 22l tank you must have been running on fumes.
I always calculate that I've got about 40 miles left when the Low Fuel warning comes on.
And I carry a full 5l fuel can with me when I go on longer trips.
The later you brake the longer you go fast.

that's fine  last time we toured france, we kept a steady touring speed to 90 m.p.h "approx 142 k.p.h" from cali to glenoble, and we averaged approx 45 m.p.g on both the zzr1400 and the hayabusa, so expecting the gtr to average approx 55 m.p.g in the eco mode  dose that sound reasonable?

Mecki ... I like the idea of carrying the 5L can .... quite heavy as extra "luggage" ... do you "pack" it into the top box with not much else in there of weight or just sling it in a pannier and sod the weight distribution ?

210 miles other day till low fuel was flashing i run in ecco all time bikes done 3200 mile seems slightly looser than when new and better on fuel my 57 plate one i used to have did more to the tank but had done 9000 miles will see what happens when she done a few more miles

I just put it in the right hand pannier and haven't noticed any handling problems.

I had always thought the tank was 23L, so this made me check the owners manual and Mecki is right - 22L. Makes more sense to me now that the most I have ever managed to get in the tank is 21.2L.

Since you should have 4l of fuel left when the Low Fuel warning comes on that would give you at least another 40-50 miles.
So we are talking 250-260 miles on a full 22l tank.
I reckon that's pretty good.

One day I'm going to run my bike dry. I've done 20 miles on the flashing low fuel warning, and only manage to fill up to 19l (and that's 19l with overfill).
