Sorry, from a Southern poof, when you talk about up norff, how far up are we talking about?

I've been told by work, that there is a 60-75% chance of me and SWMBO having to move to Leeds.

We previously thought anything further than Watford was North and we are in cambridge at the moment.  :mfr_lol:

Neil

Leeds is a bit South of me  Neil, but its a nice place.

Look on the bright side if you move North you can then ride out with the BIG lads

It was good to meet new faces today and to say hello to some 'old ones' that I haven't seen for a while

Nice ride out....really sorry I couldn't go to Slaidburn with the rest of you, but I HAD to return to attend to some jobs

Next time we must make it a day out .......Thanks guys

[/quote]"really sorry I couldn't go to Slaidburn" well I wouldn't be sorry, there was quite a few  :sweatdrop: and  :shit:ty skiddies and plenty of  faces, and i'm dam sure "lamin" wished he didn't, there was ice which spoilt our fun  but apart from that, had a nice ride out and was able to put some faces to some names

Roger it was lovely to meet you and the other lads and lass. But NOBODY went to Slaidburn, And I must confess it was probably my fault that it didn't happen. In my infinite wisdom I decided on the short route, as I got the impression that most of the lads didn't want to be out all day. The road I chose whilst in the main was dry, was also full of ICE  where water had run across and at that time had not thawed. unfortunately one of the lads had a bit of a moment that spoilt the day. So the decision was made to turn around and get back to the main road.So the ride out aspect of the day was spoilt for every one especially Mr Lamin, and I hope that there was not too much damage to the bike, and to everyone else for the crap decision of mine to use that road. :embarrassed:
What would you rather be   or a wasp?

It was good to meetup with the northern lot, even though it my freezing toes will ever forgive me.
As for the ride out and the incident, it was one of those unfortunate things. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Personally, I was up for going so if there is any blame its shared.

Geoff, (and the rest of the gang), I truely felt for Lamin, it could have happened to any of us. Hopefully it will be an easy fix for him and I do hope that it doesn't put him off a future visit to the Bridge or ride out with us in the very near future.  I can confirm though that the GTR is a very heavy bike and it took four of us to get it out of the moorland and back onto the road!

It was great to see a few new faces though, thanks to all those who attended.

Well said kwikasfuki . we all made our own choice to go there ,nobody was to know the ice be so bad, but was a hell of introduction to being back on the bike from last time i went out in the snow an ice  next time we must do the same road cos its a great bit of riding and Slaidburn is a lovely little place
i just loved it when the 70+ yr old guy went off road and just ploughed through like it not there ....... hate him  :2guns:

lamin

A big thank you to all the lads who helped with the recovery of my bike from the bogland at the side of the road today. No damage at all, seems it was the best place to land, nice and soft. Good to put some faces to names and look forward to the next meeting, perhaps when all the ice has melted and things warm up a little xx
