Anybody who has their front suspension set to 14mm can you tell me how lines are showing eg3 lines and a bit sort of thing thxs in advance.

I've never tampered with my suspension set up either front or rear. Iwill however have a look and see what setting it is on though tomorrow for you if that's ok.

Not quite sure what you mean by "set to 14mm", but the screenshot below shows the standard settings for my 2010 + what I personally have mine at right now.

As an aside, I do notice the suspension performing very differently now winter is here, almost as if the oil has got much thicker in the cold. Never noticed it on previous bikes. A significantly harder, less plush ride, as though I have wound on a lot more compression damping.

Martin.

65,000 miles now. Loving this bike.

thxs for reply have always felt that the front felt a little light ,when i bought the bike was informed that it was set to standard but turns out not so front settings were 5 clicks ok and only three and a half lines showing meaning to stiff for my weight have adjusted will have to go for a spin to determine how much worse or better its going to be.

There's tons of guides on the net about how to setup the suspension. I got mine done at a track day, but tbh its not rocket science to setup

Absolutely correct.....but it can seem a bit of a dark art and appear daunting until you have a go yourself

Ok, possibly better late than never. As I mentioned I've never tampered with these settings on the GTR. The guy I bought the bike from was similiar in size to me so I just left things as they were.

I've had for a look in the owners manual this morning and it says that the Spring Preload Adjuster for an average build rider of 68kg with no passengers and no accessories is 14mm 0.6 inch from top of adjuster.

The Rebound Damping Force Adjuster is 5 clicks out from the fully seated position.

Firstly I've never met a biker who only weighs 65kg  ;D  I'm about a 100kg, (about 16st). The Spring Load Adjuster on mine is at 9.75mm approx but definately under 10mm.

This pic may be of some benefit to you.

14mm = 0.06 inch? They must have very long inches where you live.  ::)
The later you brake the longer you go fast.

Ok, so I put an extra 0 in by mistake! It's now corrected. ;)

thxs for the reply does help alot

No problems, this isnt an area I know a lot about so perhaps if you have serious reservations about your suspension set up I'd consider getting the advice of an expert. Apologies for the delay in me getting back to you.
