Thank you all for the warm welcome.

I bought the bike from a Hardly Ableson dealer in Cleveland for a really good price since they usually like to push out the door any trade that is non American Iron. Upon picking up the bike I discovered that it already had the lower heat dissipating shields, Throttle meister , a nice loud horn, comfort grips. And a two brother carbon can.

I had ordered a Calsci wide- x large screen that arrived today in Annapolis. I promptly had it installed and took bike out for a two hour ride in the city and on an interstate highway. Wind noise is entirely diminished when shield is extended, and very little turbulence is created in on my back. Overall very happy. My fear was that with such a big screen I would end up staring through it even on its lowest setting, not so. I stand 5.10 with a 32 inch insem.

Introductions / Hello from Miami.

Hello all. Just picked up an 08 1400 with 14k on the clock and in practically new condition from Cleveland, Ohio and riding it home to Miami with an interim stop to visit some family in Annapolis Md. I find your forum to be exceptionally informative. I started on an SS50 Honda in Paddington, London back in 1977, my does time ever fly. My 02 VFR800 vtec is still waiting at home along with a 71 Suzi T350, still an addict to 2 stroke oil after all these years. Much as I love the Vfr,, my right wrist is no longer as pliable as it once was and a new home will have to be found for the beloved Honda. Suzi will be staying to entertain me on weekends as she has always done for countless years now, and the GTR will do long distance duty in hot Florida and beyond.
I have always wanted a CL 14 as the Kawasaki is referred to here, and will undoubtedly learn a lot from your experience on this lovely tourer, I also hope to be of some value, as I have been an avid rider for more than 35 years and counting. Cheerio!
