Hi Lloyd,
Do you still have the exhaust for sale, please?
If so, can you send me a picture of it?
Interested in it.

Thank you

Thank you all for the very useful information provided.

Have taken everything on board and will double check all bolts and fixings that might have been affected by applying mild strength thread lock compound and by previous jobs.

That's what I thought but did use torque wrench and locking compound to avoid this and never had a problem before... Going to check my torque wrench is working properly!!!

I have ordered bolts and spare bracket to double check the cast metal not faulty.

Have also helicoil kit so will do this while waiting for new bracket.

Thanks for confirming what I thought... never seen salt doing this...

First time in 30 years of riding...
Threads on both attachment points on the rear bracket are completely gone and transferred onto the bolt threads!!
Best mate thinks winter riding and salt could cause this...

Has anyone seen this before?

Same as others, have the balancing checked again.

Had new PR4s fitted before my trip to France in June and never experienced this on new sets.

Not sure for the PR4s but the PR3s had a tendency to do this after some time as they were getting worn unevenly at the front. But never with new tyres!!

Hi all,

Looking for some views on if it's worth investing in the aftermarket rear shock for the GTR (I have the opportunity to get an Ohlins rear shock) and if people have done it, what they think of it?

Any views/advice welcome.

thank you

Very interesting to hear how much you paid and being happy with the service.

Unfortunately, too far for me and was thinking about having it done as well soon as discovered a slight leak on the top engine seal. Oil level not dropping but enough to make the area dirty over a few months.
Also looking at the having the plugs changed at the same time.

Has anyone got any recommendation for a good (and honest ) mechanic in the Cambridge area?

Thanks

I have been stopped twice originally by friendly drivers telling me that my topbox was really bouncing around.
It was because the original rack is really flimsy.
I have replaced the entire thing with this
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LUGGAGE-RACK-WITH-PLATE-MONOKEY-GIVI-KAWASAKI-GTR-1400-2007-2015-COD-SR410/273719873696?epid=825413520&hash=item3fbaf9d0a0:g:T8YAAOSwR6RaRRBZ&frcectupt=true

And it is rock solid!!! Takes a bit of time putting it together but once on, it will never move! :-)
With a Givi maxia!! It has been a perfect combination for many years.

1400GTR Discussion / Re: Driveshaft greasing

Hi,

I'm planning a big service on the GTR and looked into the grease/paste for the drive but the only one I can find at the moment is this replacement for the Honda 60:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FOR-HONDA-MOLY-60-M-77-ASSEMBLY-PASTE-GREASE-75G-2-65OZ/401565710149?epid=650331665&hash=item5d7f2e7745:g:rpcAAOSw1qtbRUoJ&frcectupt=true

I found other Moly grease but with lower content of MoS.

Has anyone got a better supplier for the grease, please?
Thanks

Hi,
I use to have a Zumo 660 but selling it now as I haven't used it for ages. Still great unit with a new battery as well but I'm just using the apps on the iphone.
The free app in question is called Waze and is a great sat nav as well as speed camera warning (it has saved me from loosing my licence more than once ). It also gets live traffic update a reroute you immediately. It's being used extensively in europe and starting to grow in UK.

Regarding the mount and power supply, I have a ram mount with a specific Ultimate addons waterproof case for the iphone (but they do other models as well).

I have installed a power switch for this in the glove box and you can plug any new socket just under the box. You have two leads already there (under the plastic cover for the leads just behind the box under the fairing).

I'll try to get some pictures soon to show you the setup.

Tapps,
agreed with the pr3's but really surprised on how much you are paying for them!!! the most I have paid for a full set fitted was £231. Even less when I manage to have them changed in France during the moto gp or the 24h bike race in le mans (last friday, front fitted for £70/€93!!).

Have been using them on other bikes but couldn't find the right one for the GTR. Usually they are cut to fit the saddle and when bought the GTR, the corresponding one was not available.
But always been great for the passenger not to slide forward.
