Thanks for the advice Boomer ! I had a look at another gtr yesterday and realized mine has some bar risers fitted, I'll take a picture of mine this afternoon and see if someone can tell me which screen I have fitted.
I also have lower back issues at the moment  :undecided:

I've watched that video a few times now and put myself on all three bikes in my head! I am with the opinion that maybe the slow rider didn't cause the crash , the person that slammed the anchors on from speed was the camera bike, the slow rider had room to the right of him but used poor judgement/ observations maybe neither as the other two bikes were going so fast. The bike that seems to be under taking was actually just using the longest braking line as in the bike farthest away from him.
The camera bike had room to go through that gap but braked very heavy, hence the trailing bike taking the inside line.
Obviously this is one of those situations where a combination of factors has caused mayhem and I wouldn't jump up and down on any of those riders for their actions. If your looking for the root cause of this accident it is speed and reaction time so let's not demonize any of those probably quite traumatized riders.
I've never been one for advocating a speed limit on the IOM, TT Sunday but to stop this kind of thing it's the only real option.

General Discussion / Re: What do you use

Always have and probably always will use Mr Sheen.
Fantastic at fly corpse removal, £1 a can, just don't spray on the seat or grips!

Apply before a ride and reap the rewards of easy bug removal when you get home.

If I'm feeling flush and want to treat my ride a good clay bar and nice wax do top the Mr Sheen!

Hi wolf,

Well I'm 6'6" and the bike obviously wasn't designed with my extra few inches in mind so it's probably a common issue of helmet buffeting, making me think I need a slightly taller screen, also at around 4000 rpm the vibrations through the bars don't do me any favours. I had the same issue on my Old ZZR 1400 so obviously an engine trait, nothing horrendous but it would be nice if I could cure it maybe with some different weighted bar ends to move the vibration to a different part of the rev range.
Other than those two minor issues its everything I want it to be for now and certainly doesn't disappoint.

Hi,

I'm Dave , I've been looking at purchasing a GTR 1400 for a few years now, ever since I bought a ZZR 1400 to ride to Spain on about 5 years ago. But one thing or another has conspired against me and I've been riding anything other than a GTR 1400
So, anyway I've actually gotten around to getting myself a 2009 ABS model, which I am very happy to say has delighted me in most respects but disappointed in others, hence why I have navigated my way to this great forum, to walk amongst fellow GTR 1400 Brethren and discover the secrets of making this bike just that little bit better.

I hope to be a regular on this forum and thought it best to introduce myself first, as I may be seeking some advice.
