Well, deals all done. Got the price  I wanted for the GTR and managed to convince them to throw in a full major service and a set of new boots.  #result. Hopefully picking it up this weekend dependant on V5 returning from DVLA as the bike was white but BMW changed to black.

So. After 10 years of owning a GTR I'm in the process of buying a new bike. 2016 GS adv.  not a cert yet as BMW are haggling on the trade in price and Im not too bothered.  Loved the GTR but time for a change I think.

The Market / Re: Wanted Baglux Tank Cover

Hi. You can fit the tank lock system to your 08. I've done it on mine.  I had to put some spacers on the petrol cap bolts to raise it slightly above the glove boa. Longer one side on the front and shorter ones on the rear bolts . I have however replaced my standard cap with a alumininum one so the petrol hole is smaller.  I did try it with the standard cap and it won't hinge all the way out with the lock ring.  I only put the ring on when I'm touring as it's a bit unsightly for normal use but much better than the baglux bag which I found leans to the left all the time no matter what I did.

Yep. My hugger did that. They run close anyway. Just bend it back on the brackerts when on the center stand and check for cheareance by spinning the rear wheel.

Had mine done at 24k. Apparently they needed changing. Mostly high speed abroad riding. Mechanic is a friend of mine so I know they did need changing   A big job. Not for the faint  hearted. Takes ages. 6-8 hrs mine took.

Heated jackets need to be wired directly to the battery otherwise you lose a lot of heat. Trust me. Been there done that.  😁👍

Also wired my 660 bracket to the front brake light switch via piggy back spade connector.  Easy and minimises wiring.

Well my own stupidity  in short.  I had to take the rear wheel out for a new tyre and because I had a rear hugger  fitted I needed to take the end can and slip on off the exhaust to remove the hugger. Unfortunately I lost my footing and the exhaust dropped about 6 inches and snapped the connecting slip on part from the downpipes clean off.  Was not a happy bunny.  😩

Don't do it. It's a bloody nightmare. Half the bikes got to come off. Get a shop to do it

1400GTR Discussion / Downpipes

So had to change my downpipes today.  What a bitch of a job. Awkward as f***. Not much space behind the radiator to get to the header nuts even if you take off the bottom mounting bolt for the radiator.  Never doing that again.  😬
