my bike was booked in for the 31st of this month, it actually runs out on the 6th of april, after the 6th i will not ride it, am i right in saying i can ride it to a MOT station after the 6th as long as it's BOOKED IN in advance, as most will be shut down like ALFS MOTORCYCLES is, due to COVID-19.

after the end of march every vehicle is given a 6 month exemption on testing, but needs to be kept road worthy

It's still not clear if it is okay to take a recreational ride out,   common sense tells me that it isn't as in the event of a breakdown (unlikely) or an accident then third parties would be involved

Nothing stopping recreational ride, until police start stopping you.. which they are.. and doing you for un-necessary journey, or a small mishap takes you to a virus filled hospital :-(

Hello folks

Don't know why, but I drifted away from this forum, but im back 🙂. I bought my gtr almost  10 years ago, on 09 plate with 1000 miles on the clock.

It's  now got 54k in the clock and still going strong and has never had any serious  issues in that  time and I still enjoy it as much as ever.

Just passed another mot with no issues, was then  sent for All year biker treatment  and tommorow morning going to have suspension  set up done professionally, following fork oil seal  renewal.

I'm looking forward to catching up on here

PS: Ridden 180 miles and now parked up until lockdown is lifted :-(

My 2009 bike had it's first plug change in otober last year at just under 40k. That's when the shims were checked... no action needed..and the work was triggered by  small oil leak from the cam cover gasket dropping onto the exhaust down pipe

I listened to a presentation by the chief scientist from thr Trl, transport research laboratory a few days ago. This technology is further down the development route than is realised. Many elements are already in cars today. Interesting talk.

He underestimated the time for the work but charged less hours that it took. Very good value

maybe 1000 - 1200 quid

750.

I expected mor. The tyres and grips were 320 alone,  but he is a great trust worthy guy who is well resepected locally.

Its being collected in the morning,  get a few miles done to clean the tyres then leading rospa group ride in to north wales on sunday.

Went in for a quick look a few weeks ago as I could smell oil burning. Diagnosed as tiny
Leak from top cover falling on exhaust , so booked in for leak and added service, shim check, may get new plugs if needed, new pr4s and better set of grips.

Its good to hand the bike to someone you can trust.

Brilliant !! well done  :punk:

Do they still expect an over the shoulder check ??

Its never compulsary as such, but its an elements of taking information in and shouldbbe considered as part of the system.
