Will it run via USB? I thought it only charged.

I looked at shortening the supplied cable, as I too wanted a fully removable plug in solution, but it is not straight forward.

I gave in and hard wired hiding the cable and power reducing box whee the accessory connectors are under the left side panel.

The YouTube video solution is  great idea.

I'm going to refine it a little by using these with a rubber washer (to add a little movement and waterproofing) and a large penny washer.

Here's how I did my Drift. It's adhesive, though you could add a self taper.

If you have the original sensors fitted you can change the battery easy enough, if you have the later version then I have yet to see anybody try, but on the basis somehow a battery got fitted then perhaps access is possible.
I've seen this said before, but I have a 2010 model and the dealer replaces the battery for me when the dreaded low battery message comes up.

What's an excess policy? Sounds interesting.

Kawasaki also do a direct replacement for the original rack plate.  This one comes wth Givi Monolock points already cast into it.  I fitted one earlier this year and it made the topbox completely solid

part number 999940620 I paid about £65 in March
Now I'm confused as your pic looks like MonoKEY fitting.

While on this subject does anyone know if the 2016 model rack plate will fit the earlier models, and will it allow the original 47L (Givi manufactured) topbox to fit direct (without having the original plastic plate bolted to the plastic carrier plate)?

My fob is kept in a snappy sandwich bag in the pocket of my jacket. Only time it comes out is when left at the dealers for service or to put a new battery in.

Bulbs replaced.

I went for ones made for motorcycling - Philips X-Treme Vision Moto H4

Now I need to find some City Light replacements as they look like little yellow candles!

Given the confidence from the above replies (thanks) that I wasn't going to break anything I managed to get the connectors off this afternoon.

  :punk:

A meter on the bulb pins confirms that BOTH dip beams have blown in one ride ... so now off to buy a lottery ticket

1400GTR Discussion / H4 Connector Removal

 :censored: :censored: :censored: Arrrgggghhhhh!

How do you remove the connector from the back of the headlight bulbs?

The manual just says "Remove Headlight Connector". Yeah, right! No amount of tugging will budge it. I'm pulling and can feel the bulb lifting slightly against the spring clip, so don't want to pull any harder and break something.

Are there any points on the connector body to squeeze (like my Pan had) or is it really just a push/pull fit? Any pics of the connector off (not the back of the bulb).

Can it really be this hard to change a bulb?

I suppose, if I have to, I can release the spring clip and pull the bulb, boot and connector out together, still connected, but there's not a lot of slack on the cable down there.

It's snowing. Didn't know it was that cold!  Two bucket wash with hand mitt. Dried with a doggy hair dryer. Copious amounts of Simoniz Back to Black, and Pledge gives a very shiny result that you can see your face in. Vulnerable areas touched up with ACF50. Tyre pressures done. A good morning's work.

Hopefully it will mean the Pilot Road 4s will now be cheaper.

That's what happened to the 3s when the 4s were released.

This is simply a gift to Honda's Pan, Triumph, and,BMW. It will be interesting to watch second hand GTR prices...
Honda Pan ... dead also
Triumph Trophy ... dead also

Just selling off old stock like Kawasaki is with the GTR. Not sure what is happening to the Yamaha FJR.

If you don't wan't a bike made out of scaffold tubes then Sports Tourers are becoming thin on the ground to non-existent.
