I was just wondering if anyone knows what happened to my old GTR. She was one of the first ones registered on a 57 plate in black, XFR being the last part of the reg. I owned this from six months old and sold it in June 2018 to a guy from Orpington Kent.

I have done the checks on the reg, and it has not been taxed or SORN and not had its MOT done in Sept this year.

Any news, good or bad, would be interesting.

The Market / Free Standard screen

The GTR has been sold, but I have still got the standard clear screen if anyone wants it. Yours for free if you collect or for the cost of postage. Its in good condition, hardly used. Also see my other post regarding a free to collect black front mudguard. Location Kent, but travel to Wiltshire if this helps.

I have used Toyota coolant that is ready mixed and good for 60k miles. I have used it in both cars and bikes with no problems. Expensive but worth it.

If you are staying at The Buccleuch Arms Hotel in Moffat, then ask the owners for the good ride outs. They have got a big map on the wall with it all marked out, and they will also help you decide which is best for what you want to see and do. Great food as well.........

The Market / Gel seat for sale
July 30, 2018, 01:31:06 PM
I have a genuine Kawasaki gel seat for sale.  This seat has had hardly any use due to upgrading to a Top Sellerie which was sold with my bike.  This seat is in a very good used condition and is a definite improvement to the standard seat!  Offers please, but thinking of around £150 plus postage.  I will be listing this on Ebay shortly. If it helps, I live in Kent but regularly travel to Wiltshire so could deliver en-route.

The Market / Free Black front mudguard

I have a black front mudguard free for collection or cost of postage. There is a bit of damage to the back edge as can be seen in the photo. This was caused due to it being too close to the exhaust on an engine run on the ramp with insufficient air flow.  This cannot be seen when mounted on the bike and could probably be repaired by rubbing down and filling.    I live in Kent but regularly travel to Wiltshire so could deliver en-route if this helps. Moving home so this is just in the way now, if it is not wanted it will go to land fill.

Well my beloved 57 Plate GTR is now with its new owner, a really nice guy called Tony bought it today and I had my final ride to deliver it to his house.

I was the very proud owner for nearly ten years and it still made me smile every time I was out on it. It also still frightened the life out of me when it did the warp factor 9 thing above 6000 revs...........felt great really.

I have toured two up and solo, chased my mates on there sports bikes, opened a few eyes with that one, and passed my IAM on it.

THE BEST BIKE I HAVE OWNED BY FAR.

Even though I am no longer an owner, I would still like to stay with the group, and I passed on the info to the new owner so he may join in soon as well.

I will keep reading the site, and with ten years experience I may be able to help someone out at some point.

Due to my health issue, bikes will have to wait for now, but a smaller lighter bike may be in my plans for further down the road.

Thank you to you all, and thank you to my truly great GTR, its been a fantastic journey.  :biker3:

Hi ya Jason, unfortunately I am selling my GTR due to ill health, I live in Kent but travel to Bath on a regular basis. My GTR is Advertised in MCN at the moment so if you maybe interested pm me or use the contact on the MCN advert.

My GTR is one of the first, Sept 2007, 26500 miles, a few extras,  Large Screen with laminar lip, Kawasaki (Top Block) crash protectors, R&G fork protectors, plus a few other bits and bobs.

It is up for £4.5k but that is up for negotiation.

This is by far the best bike I have ever owned, and it is a real wrench to let it go, it has served me well over the years (owned since 8 months old), and I would happily keep if my situation was different.

I am tempted with a 650 Burgman if things look up for me!

It is a shame because I love this bike to bits, and it has served me well over the years, but I looked back and over the last three years it has only covered 1000 miles, and with the health and age against me I think the big bike days are over. If things improve for me I will look at getting something a bit smaller and lighter.

I have had the low battery warning for the tyre pressure sensors intermittently for over a year now (mainly in cold weather). Then the front one stopped all together.

Due to health reasons, it is time to let my fantastic GTR go to a new owner, and it is only fair that it should be fully working, so I have replaced both batteries on the sensors. Having watched several You Tube vids on the subject, I opted for soldering standard CR2032 batteries direct with short  leads. I discovered that it was possible to solder onto the battery case without damaging it. In the process I did kill one new battery by heating it too much, and learnt that three seconds contact with the soldering iron was enough to get a good joint without damage.

Road test complete, and all is fine. Next job is to put the bike back to near standard, so there my be a few bits up for grabs soon, if the new owner is not interested.

I would be interested in that mod

Well what can I say.............this little fix worked a treat! Now the throttle response is super smooth and so much easier to control. A very big thank you, I am back to fully enjoying my bike again!  :biker3:
