I contacted Kawasaki Uk and Simon Chitty called back to say he has spoken to dealer and the official answer is fair wear and tear! I have asked if they can email this to me so I can keep as a record (will let you all know if this happens). K Uk say my bike is due a brake service at 4000 miles sorry inspection so I have to book it into dealer. Why oh why did I pay for an extended warranty!!!

I am having the same problem on a 2013 bike bought in April with only 3800 miles on the clock and the dealer is saying wear & Tear or it may be corrision, I clean the bike and brakes (brake cleaner) as it's a known problem they should do something about it! Service manual says nothing about stripping the brakes and doing anything to the discs.

Hi All,

I bought a GTR1400 new in April this year, I now have 3800 miles on the clock and my both front discs have scored badly and my pads are nearly worn through, as most of my miles are motorway I approached the dealer about the issue and was told that it's wear and tear has anyone else had the same issue?

Cheers,

Gary
