Rob, I don't suppse you know if the Telferizer will fit if a Kawasaki  Sat Nav bracket is also fitted ?

I only ask as I have my sat nav mounted on a Kawasaki mount and was hoping to fit a ram mount for my camera

I don't know for sure but I would think so.  I use a 6" Ram extension and it holds the Tom Tom Rider OK.  I have Helibar risers on though.  The ball sits pretty flush to the top of the yolk cap.

I fitted one of these.
Does the job.

Just a quick update for anyone who stumbles across this thread.
I bought the TomTom Rider V5 and with the latest version of firmware on the SCRS it worked fine.
I have just returned from 4,500 mile trip to Croatia and Italy and it did the job.
I didn't try to pair to anything in addition to the sat nav, don't want to take phone calls and I find music a distraction.
I found the lane assist function quite useful and accurate.
I lost connection with the SCRS at one point but I reset the Schuberth system (cleared all paired devices-small section right at the back of the manual) and re-paired it to the TomTom and it worked fine.  I'm not sure whether this was due to the fact that I had previously paired the SCRS to my Samsung S3 phone and it may have tried to pick up the Bluetooth from the phone that I had with me and switched on.
Inputting the city/street names with the default keyboard (three or four characters to a key) was a pain and it wasn't until I was half way through the trip I found that I could change it to a QWERTY keyboard which worked much better.
There were a couple of problems with the Tyre mapping software, it accepts an address and sets it as a destination in the itinerary and this transfers from PC to sat nav fine however, it approximates the address if it can't find it.  There is no message that it has done this and consequently you are taken to a point within a few miles of where you want to go.
If anyone wants any more detail - post a reply.

Thanks for that flatfour.
It's getting worse by the minute.

I found an interesting link at:

http://www.mortis.org.uk/?p=369

It mentions potential volume problems on the Garmin 550 and 660 which is consistent with your daughter and her friends findings.

I've posted it here because it may help anyone considering spending £250+ on the Schuberth system.

Thanks for your efforts flatfour.

Hi flatfour, I believe the Cardo Scala works with the Zumo 350 as well as the 660 according to comments on the www.  It's a bit baffling why the SRCS also made by Cardo doesn't work with the 350.  It isn't just me or faulty kit, others have documented the no volume problem with this combination.
It would be interesting to know if your daughter ever found a good SRCS/GPS solution.

I have an Autocom and have wired speakers in my old C2 helmet, they were a little bulky but the solution worked well as you know Lonewolf.  I plugged the Autocom into the Garmin Nuvi 350 earphone socket and put a freezer bag over it with an elastic band around it and the supporting Ram arm.  It has worked for two bikes and thirty+ thousand miles.

I thought I would update to Bluetooth connectivity when I upgraded to a C3 with the long term plan that I would eventually upgrade to a compatible sat nav and get rid of the Autocom and lots of cables.
I've had the SRCS for some months now so I am stuck with it and I don't fancy stripping it out and fitting wired speakers having spent an exorbitant amount of cash.
I would like to persevere and find a working solution.

It works fine with my phone I am just hoping someone somewhere has managed a successful pairing with a Garmin 660 or a TomTom Rider version 5 and is willing to tell the tale.

Failing that does anyone know where there is a dealer with a demo TomTom Rider V5 anywhere between Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham and Hull and I'll go and test it with my SRCS.

I think I'm coming to realise that the latest technology is not always the best.

Thanks for your comments.

Only one device can be connected at a time by Bluetooth. The Zumo 350 does not support linking a mobile phone to it then connecting to a headset.  The Zumo was the only connected device so priority and order of pairing was not the issue.  I exhausted all possibilities with the Zumo and returned it for refund. I am keen to find out if the SRCS is known to work perfectly with any other GPS device.
Cheers

I checked the volume controls on the Zumo.  They were set to max. It didn't make any difference.  The SRCS volumes were set to max too.  The message from the SRCS that the Garmin (which it described as a phone) was connected was very loud.

I bought the Schuberth Rider Communication System (SRCS) for my C3 helmet and stupidly believed Schuberth when they state it is compatible with Garmin and TomTom sat nav's.
I have just returned a Garmin Zumo 350 LM because although it paired with the SRCS the turn by turn instructions could not be heard even when stationary and without earplugs they were so faint.
Latest SRCS and Garmin firmware were loaded but made no difference.
My Samsung Galaxy 3 pairs and the volume on phone, navigation and music is fine.
(BTW, the radio on the SRCS is widely reported as being rubbish and I concur).

Has anyone tried pairing the SRCS with the TomTom Rider V5 or had success when pairing to any other sat nav with full European coverage?
TomTom service desk will not comment on compatibility, stating they have not tested it.

I have big trip planned and don't really want to rely on my out of date maps on my Garmin Nuvi 350 on a ram mount in a freezer bag and paper maps.

Any help would be appreciated.
