General Discussion / Decent spin
April 09, 2019, 09:47:04 PM
First decent spin of the year on Saturday, my boy was racing with his team (Wales cycling academy) in Torquay,so decided whilst on my way to M and P , just a couple of miles from home, Kawasaki  bmw Honda Ktm and Harley ,lots of unaffordable things to look at ! I thought fuckit let's go down to watch him race.
Flew down m4 m5 ,bike is sooo flipping smooothe ,apart from a couple of 50 zones it was 85 + all the way . I swa one other GTR going north on m5 (newish blue one).
So 176 miles and 2 and half hour later , roads surprisingly quiet, I arrived , answered usual questions from several other "dads" about said GTR .... is it heavy? How fast ? Wow! Didn't know screens did that ! Etc etc .  Watched the race ( in Torbay Velo Park) shook several hands ... (he finished 6th and was bit disappointed ) and set off for home , did it in one hit ... arse felt like Freddie Mercury's after a good night out !! Might try a sheepskin ,or failing that a better seat ?
Got home just as light was fading , just as well too as I had a black visor!  All in all really enjoyed , apart from arse being bit sore , the bike is superb  ... does it all  and the couple of occasions I touched 5000 rpm ... holy shite !!!  Took me back to my zx12 years ago 🤪

Introductions / New owner

Hi, been on this site for a while now, always fancied the GTR, and now, I've got one !    She's a 2011 reg and black 'cept it's a blue one ! Traded in my Honda ctx 1300 ( lovely bike, really comfortable, but just too bland)    Anyway bought her from Blade m/c in Swindon , tidy blokes too.
She's got a short sporty screen and an aftermarket exhaust.... Might be looking for a taller screen shortly ! The bike is bloody beautiful ,all I expected with emphasis on sporty side of touring I have to say !  ..... Nice ....

Introductions / Which one?

Ok nearly sold the GSA(1150) , so looking at the GTR , question is do I go for the 2007 at about £6k , or is it worth the extra £1500 ish for a 2010 one (the one with the bigger vents in the fairing) any thoughts ? Ta.
