thanks for taking the trouble to explain . sorry to hear that the deal fell through .

No problem! Yea, it's a bummer that the deal fell through after all of that especially because, as I mentioned, the end customer is the one who ends up losing out.

what ! cancelled due to a 1 day delay in collection. mmmmm  Ant has messaged us with a slightly different  reason .

I heard. However they were inaccurate assumptions, unfortunately. We do indeed do all manufacturing in house aside from the powder coating and chroming. If any of you guys have visited the other Concours forums (ZGGTR or COG) and/or seen our product "build" threads, it's popular opinion that we're a great company to work with that manufactures quality accessories.

We moved facilities at the beginning of this year to a recently renovated, 30,000 sq. ft. facility which was previously owned by Titan Fabrication who is related to us in absolutely no way, shape, or form. As far as our dealers having difficulty getting these products, that's because most dealers purchase through national distributors who haven't yet begun purchasing this specific product in large quantities even though they've been some of our hottest sellers. However, more and more dealers have begun coming directly to us for these and have no problem attaining product that way.

I emailed Ant on Thursday letting him know that the product would go out early the following week (we work 4, 10 hour days so we're closed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). However, we used a special shipping company that we use from time to time that only handles bulk shipments in order to save on shipping and I wasn't personally aware until very recently that they don't service our area daily because I'm not usually the one who deals with this specific shipping company. So, the only day to schedule pickup was Wednesday. I was actually going to email Ant this morning when I got in the office to notify him that the product was leaving today and supply him the invoice but when I got to the office I saw his email that he wanted to cancel the order.

It's a bummer that after all that he decided to cancel especially because the end customer is the one who suffers from it. If any of you guys would still like this product, it is in stock and ready to ship out and, as I mentioned, would be willing to cover $25 of the shipping cost for you. Feel free to PM me or email me directly if you have any questions or would like to order.

Hi all, Im assured they are being despatched early next week, so I may have them Friday to go out ( I wish !!! )  :surrender:

This is now not happening, so may as well look at doing them myself as I have the necessary contacts to make something similar. Will keep you posted........

In order to get a good shipping rate, we used a special shipping company for this particular order due to its size. However, they don't service our specific area daily so we had to schedule the pickup for Wednesday instead of the Monday or Tuesday date I was aiming for. The order has now been cancelled due to this slight delay. If any of you guys are still interested in purchasing these parts, you can do so directly from us as they're currently in stock. I'd hate for the end customers who really want the product to be the ones to suffer so I'd be willing to cover $25 of the shipping cost to the U.K. for those that do decide to order.

that's fab news and your efforts are much appreciated , I wish you all the best with your overseas expansion

I hope you are making the most of this new dealer outlet and advertsing the shit out of it, you are gonna need more customers than this humble site can provide .

good work,

who is the dealer

Thank you very much! We actually don't do much advertising besides SOE. We used to have various print ads and stuff but it never really seemed to help very much. We seemed to get more business by reaching out to folks on forums like this rather than actual advertising. Although I believe the dealer himself is getting the word out a bit on his end. As of right now, we get at least a few international inquiries a week regarding these products so I'll simply be directing those people to this new dealer from now on so as to save on shipping, duty, and taxes so that'll certainly help him move the product.

The dealer actually specifically requested that I do not release his information (although I wanted to!) until the product is a day or two from arriving. I'm not sure why but it's up to him and I'm respecting his request. I figured he'd want to start accumulating orders but I guess he'd rather wait until he can ship the product the same day as the order is placed. Once we ship the product and it's close to arriving at his place, I'll be sure to give you guys all the necessary information.

Hey guys! I just wanted to give you a bit of an update on what's happening with the dealer in the U.K. Everything is moving forward very smoothly, thus far and we've even gotten the shipping all situated. The dealer has even submitted the order and we're working on getting it all organized as we speak. The dealer is purchasing so much that we're going to ship all the parts on a pallet which drastically reduces the shipping cost per guard which, in turn, reduces the end price you guys will pay! From the shipping company we're using, service to the U.K. from the U.S.A. is only 3-5 days so hopefully the guards will be available for sale there within a week or two although this time frame isn't set in stone. As soon as I know when we're shipping, I'll be sure to post the dealer website here for you guys so you can begin ordering.

I actually have some pricing ready for you guys as the dealer has estimated his cost including all taxes, duty, fees, and shipping. All Canyon Cages (for the 2010-2014 Concours 1400, 2006-2012 FJR1300, and 2013-2014 FJR1300) are £239 and all Saddle Bag Guards (for the same bikes) will be £140. Shipping is set at £12 for next day delivery and £8 for 3-5 day service for all customers within the U.K.

Awesome, guys! I'm glad to see some interest! Once the deal is set up (hopefully sometime this week) I'll be sure to post all of the pertinent dealer information so you guys can contact him directly. He's a very nice guy. Based on what we've been discussing, it's sounding like he's aiming for our guards to be in the £230-£250 range delivered (I'm not quite sure what the pillion guards will come out to quite yet). Is that reasonable?

Yes, panniers = saddle bags  :mfr_lol:

Thanks for the pic. Looks like I'll be going for the full set.

Awesome! Okay, that's what I thought but I wasn't totally sure. Sounds like I need to work on my British lingo! Almost nobody on this side of the pond refers to them as panniers (even though it's easier to say and rolls off the tongue smoother than saddle bags, IMO).

The Canyon Cage on the panniers. How much does that protude by? Just thinking if it will impact filtering

Forgive my ignorance but the panniers are the saddle bags, correct? The Saddle Bag Guards look like they protrude more than they actually do in Debs photo due to the convex nature of the saddle bags themselves. From the widest point of the saddle bag the Saddle Bag Guard only sticks out about an inch or so, if that. They're very, very tight. I posted a photo below with a bit better angle showing this. It should have no effect on your ability to filter through traffic, though, as the widest point on the bike is still the mirrors. So if your mirrors can squeeze the gap, the entire bike will certainly fit.

I'm interested in them particularly now that it appears we may be able to purchase them in the UK. I would want the front and rear protection though which according to your pricing as things currently stand would cost me $475. Taking into account that the potential UK stockist would be selling them at a price comparable with your 'rivals' that would make them very affordable.

However if this project were to take months to implement people will lose interest, myself included, when do you feel you may know whether things will be a go?

That's great to hear! Oh, it definitely won't be that long. I've already given the U.K. dealer freight charges for the discussed amount that he wants to start out with and I'm waiting to hear back. He has a bit of number-crunching to do to estimate the taxes and duty fees he'll have to pay but I'm hoping this will continue to move forward in a timely manner. I'm guessing it won't take him longer than a few days to look into the tax/duty fees and hopefully we'll get an order from him shortly after that if he does find that it's viable for him. I'll certainly keep you guys posted but it sounds like we may have a legit U.K. dealer within a week or two.

debs, your bars look different from the ones from ryan, I thought that was where you got them?

For the Concours, we have two different styles of guards. One is our lower-profile Canyon Cage which is more designed for civilian use (the one I pictured in my post) and then we have the Law Enforcement Guards which are the larger style pictured on Debs bike. We still sell both versions. The Canyon Cage is much more popular, though.

I did.. Mine are the earlier model ones. I just need to find out how to mount the shotgun..

Well, we do have a flashlight/baton holder but I don't think it'll accommodate a shotgun!  :gunsmilie:

That would be excellent if it works out. I don't suppose you have a photo of the bars front and rear on a GTR so I can have a good look?

We worked out some preliminary pricing and it seems as though it's going to be financially viable for them. As long as the shipping isn't TOO outrageous it looks like this will be a go. It seems as though, based on the pricing, that the British dealer will be able to offer our parts at competitive rates with the R&G bars. Ours may be slightly more expensive but they'll be much closer to the same ballpark than they are now for you guys. Anyway, see below for pictures! I was also sure to include one with the bike on its side with the protection installed so you can see what kind of protection is offered.

I'm in if they are pitched at the right price

It'll most likely be up to the British dealer to set the final price of the parts but I'll definitely post the information here for you guys once I know what he's planning on charging.

Well, good news everyone! We've been in contact with a dealer located in the U.K. to hopefully import our Concours accessories. If we can get the details ironed out, they'll be carrying our products there at very competitive rates to the R&G accessories which will really help you guys save some coin. Once it's finalized, I'll post the dealer name and location here and you guys can begin purchasing our products directly from them to save on freight and duty fees!

Do you mean so that you can remove the fairing without removing the Canyon Cage or am I getting confused now?

Oh, yes, I apologize. I messed up the wording. I modified the original post so as not to confuse future readers. But, you have it correct. The modification allows you to remove the fairing while leaving the Canyon Cage installed.

I take it you can fit the cages without cutting the fairing as in the above photo?

You can indeed fit the Canyon Cages without any modification to the fairings. There is no cutting or drilling required to mount our accessories. The only reason to do that specific modification is so you can remove the fairings without having to remove the Canyon Cage. Makes it a bit easier when doing routine maintenance.

if you are handling the admin of the group buy then we have a chance of making it work, lets see how else shows an interest

Sounds good to me! I'll keep an eye out for interested parties and mention to them that we may be doing a Group Buy in the very near future.
