Hi

Long time since I updated this.
After a lot of debate I have decided to take my bike test and go to 2 wheels, and have already bought a 2013 Triumph Rocket III, with only 740 miles on it! start off nice and gentle........
I have sold the trike, to a guy from Bradford.

Will pop in occasionally, and have a few GTR bits to sell so will offer them here first.

They work well, need a new set, mine disintegrated and I have now removed them.
One note, don't extend them onto the bar end weight, I made that mistake on the left and it resulted in the weight rusting underneath, only found this out when I removed them.....

Hi

Thanks for the replies.

As has been said, only the centre of the tyre wear, because the trike doesn't lean in the corners.

From lots of reading a rear bias belted works best, because they use harder compound rubber, and they have twice the depth of tread to start with.

My question is, since the Michelin Pilot Activ is no longer available in my size what other model or make is an equivalent?

Thanks

Hi

When I bought the trike it had a std front tyre, and I wore it out in about 1500 miles, fitted a new one the same and got the same result.
Then after a lot of reading and some luck I fitted a Michelin Pilot Activ Rear, in reverse rotation, 130/70-17, works well and has done over 4000 miles, and now it's flattened off and worn to the point there is very little tread in the middle it grips even better, but it will need changing soon, and Michelin have stopped making my size :-/ , unless it comes from the USA......

As I understand it, it's a Bias Ply, dual compound tyre.

What's my best option as an alternative?

Glad no one was on it.

Do you know: -
What broke down?
How many miles on it?

Thanks

Richard

Debs, This bike actually belonged to Devon Freewheelers and was our first GTR blood bike purchased direct from Kawasaki, It was an EX Police demo bike. We have since bought 4 more of these and thanks to a donation we are waiting for another one to become available.
Recognisable by "working in partnership with South West Ambulance Service" on the rear hump. That is on there as about a dozen of us are First Responders for SWAST and respond when out on the bikes.

It came to grief when one of the new riders broke down on it. Even though he was told 3 times to use the recovery card he decided to recover it himself on a totally unsuitable trailer. The inevitable happened when he took a right hand corner at speed and threw the thing down the road. As he was using equipment from his own motorcycle repair garage we went after his insurance company to cover the loss. I believe this was settled recently. We tried to buy the scrapped bike bike but were turned down.

Oh, interesting idea, especially stopping the extra weight I have with the trike, let us know if it works :-)

I am not familiar with the Audi, but on many modern cars you have to remove the headlight to change bulbs, on my Mondeo they are only held on with 2 plates you pull out, simples.

Hi

The main issue is the brightness of the head beam indicator light, they are excessively bright.
There is a thread with a few solutions here

General Discussion / Re: Tumble Dryer Fires

Hi

My mum n dads drier is one of the ones affected, they have been given a date in September when it will be modified, 6 months, this is very poor.

At home our drier and washing machine live outside under a lean to roof, previous home they were in the workshop, I would never have either machine in the house, far to much damage can be done with leaks or smoke, never mind fire.

Hi All

1, The battery has dropped from 12.75v to 12.55v over 24 hours, is this enough of a test or should i leave it longer?

12.55 is fine, 12.5 is what you should have on a fully charged battery once the voltage has stabilised after charging.
