Im starting in bilbao then down to portugal along the south coast of spain to andorra over the pyrenees and up through France to roscoff for the ferry home

That's a hell of a long journey!  There's enough decent roads in Picos and Pyrenees without going south

The magazine wouldn't allow that in the article!

Have tested the Trophy each year since it came out.
It is top heavy, better two up and definitely needs the correct suspension  set up dialing into it to get the best from it.
Has a 'cheap' feel to it - feels and looks like a 1977 Allegro dashboard.
The onboard computer is a nightmare to use.  It is not intuitive and over complex.  The ergonomics are poor.  Setting the cruise control is difficult due to it's position and being on the throttle side.  Other controls on the left 'bar require a thumb the length of a baboons to operate.
It has a slight understeer, but as a tourer it works well handling/chassis wise.
The engine is awesome, pulls well and has character, but has to be worked hard to get the best from it - not unpleasant but could do with being a bit more lazy for a touring bike.
Solo, with the massive dimension top box, it can feel a tad unstable when riding with spirit (!)
Overall I quite liked it, but it isn't a bike I'd have in my garage

Must agree with Burchy, the distances/times seem quite ambitious if you want to enjoy the trip.
You'll end up riding boring roads and see nothing.

Take Route des Grande Alpes down from Thonon Les Bains through Morzine and down to Chamonix, Bourg St Maurice and down through Val D'Isere, Barcelonette and on to Digne.
Either head due south or to Marseille then pick up the Route Napoleon for the return Grasse, Gap, Grenoble back to the west towards the Alps again, Albertville and north.
Get hold of the RiDE Guide to Europe for the routes and advice.  Great publication

Invest in good waterproofs.
Don't expect to make it around corners.
Keep the GTR.

Both In and Out can put up similar arguments for and against.

Even Cameron and Farage on the EU debate program blurred over one anothers lines!

We should NOT be having this referendum - end of.

It is only because we have weak leadership of the country that it is occurring. We vote for the government, and they should make these decisions as they have access to the true experts and all the facts surrounding the UK and it's membership.

All I would say is that voting Out means we're running from the issues and will have no say in European decisions that may effect us

How'd you get that gig then ?

I emailed them last year volunteering to be a pillion on long distance tests but I was shot down in flames, basically told to piss off

Long story, but been doing the Tourer Tests since 2009.

That's what I like about bikes.... each can feel so different. One bike will feel perfect for one person, and just about ok to another, depending on riding style, height, weight and what types of road you want to ride on etc. I doubt there are many terrible bikes these days, but the variety and styles makes for some good banter!
