I know its annoying and makes your blood boil at times, but put your sale on hold for a month then see how you feel. Not worth letting one incident get in the way of years of biking in the future. I got stung like that once in Wales, and felt the same, but would've missed out on so much if I just got rid of the bike. The police need to focus on the knob heads in the hot hatches racing round the built up streets. .... I guess you could also blame the Rossi wannabes for the police targeting.

I appreciate your comments but decision made bike already on MCN and also about to be advertised for sale on this site add (awaiting approval). I also have a 2015 Versys 1000 and I am going to hang on to that for now and see how I feel.

To be honest whole thing has just left me feeling deflated about biking in this county altogether you wait long enough for some decent weather to ride then you come up against this nonsense. Don't really think its worth it when Scottish Police Force are actually telling you publicly that they are targeting bikers then its maybe time to hang up the boots not worth the hassle.

I was riding a few months ago and stopped for lunch and was talking to a fellow biker who was pulled over for doing 65mph and in his words threatened by Police with prosecution for offence of doing 65 in a 60 then he tells me they ignored the M3 BMW who overtook him at he estimated about 85-90mph. I was as far as I am concerned also threatened with Police and told quite literally pay the fine and accept the points or if I challenge charge then there is a good chance they will also pursue me for dangerous driving too Intimidation is how they seem to treat citizens now.

I am not worried about fine or 3 points as my licence was clean, but I am worried about Scottish Police Forces attitude to bikers and bikes in general. It was clear when officers got out of car that there was going to be no conversation about matter and they seemed quite excited about prospect of bagging another wrong doer. I drive a lot for my job and pride myself on being a patient thoughtful and conservative driver but this has just made me rethink riding a bike at all in future.

THEY EVEN JOKED THAT WE COULD BETWEEN THE THREE OF US CHIP IN TO PAY THE FINE AS WE WERE ALL DOING THE SAME SPEED. :censored: :censored: :censored:

Time will tell maybe feel differently in a few months or next year.

:police: :police: :police: :police:  :censored: :censored: :censored: 76 in a 60 my own fault I suppose. But Jobsworth plod doesn't help,  told me my plate wasn't legal either although correct size and lettering correct there was no BS number!!!! Enough to put you off biking.

Even told me that bikes were the target for the day. Three riders all travelling same speed straight road I was behind my pals we could see for miles ahead Police hide in the forest :nono: :nono: :nono:. Hands up I was over the limit but they told me luck of the draw so I get charged. Seems to be remit here target the biker.

Now,  I know what legal limit is and when your over it  you risk being pulled over,  but believe me when I tell you there were way worst offenders than me travelling that road yesterday!!!!!!

Pissed me off enough to sell my 15 plate GTR. I have offered it for sale to one of the other riders was out with yesterday if he doesn't take it going to put it up for sale on site only 3 months old 600 miles and £1440 worth of extras. Will be looking for 12k Watch the For sale thread.

Kenny and Colin guys I was riding with were as pissed off as me and thought they were going to be charged too, attitude of police toward bikes/bikers was terrible and lesson learned was this,  bikers are a target :censored: and this was not about road safety just about filling their book and making money.

Anyway enough said ride safely all.

Do what I do in situations, where I've had other riders stand there and tell me how much better there bikes are and say things like.."oh never buy kwak Crap!"
I just unzip me leathers......squat...... and pinch a loaf at there feet!
Then ask them if they've realised they just spat that shit out while talking!
Then call em a daft c*#t and be on your way..
Jobs a goodun! :2guns:

Think you might be a little no right lol

And of course there is a K16 rider somewhere telling his mates how the only way the GTR rider got past was to ride like a twat !

Oh, and I don't mean you were actually riding like a twat.

1400GTR Discussion / Mallaig K16 or GTR
June 25, 2015, 02:31:43 PM
Met a guy on Tuesday in Mallaig telling me how fast his K1600 was and that GTR was not in the same league  :rolleyes :death:: Now bear in mind this chap must have been 65 if he was a day younger I would have been surprised.

Anyway cut a long story short. I extracted myself from conversation quickly as I could as I had just arrived on my bike in Mallaig when the guy approached me and started chatting :shit:. I went of looking for a toilet and a fish supper before heading home and had a chuckle to myself about this guys maturity level :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:.

Here is the best bit though who did I come across riding home????  You guessed right Mr K16 himself well a little fun was had by me :scooter: and although I appreciate that the K16 is a formidable bike in the right hands sadly for Mr K16 his were not the hands for the job and I think he might be trading it in sooner than later :mfr_lol:. lol

I ride about 15k miles a year and consider myself a novice rider in terms of ability but the part of the world I was in I know well and to be honest it was a chore watching this gent ride outwith his ability level just to stay in front of any other bike or car :gun_bandana: :gun_bandana: :gun_bandana:.

Sadly I think this chap is just an accident waiting to happen.

Makes me want to be a better humble and more considerate rider though and to remember your always learning when you riding your bike. Every year at start of season I always feel like a beginner no bad thing I think!!!

1400GTR Discussion / Changing 2015 model screen
June 25, 2015, 02:01:34 PM
Just done first 600 miles on my new 2015 model GTR the screen is about to be changed over for a Cee Bailey Ultra Tour Dome.

I have to say that the screen on the 2015 model is not all that bad and the ventilation flap fitted does help with back pressure, but its not as good as a Cee Bailey Screen. I had one on my last GTR and it suited me great. If you have the new model 2015 GTR with new screen then take into account that you will need to revert to the pre 2015 model fixings to fit an after market screen as the new design with adjustable flap in screen with screen fixings cannot be attached when fitting an after market screen.

Once I have fixings delivered then I will put up for sale my 2015 screen including adjustable flap all screws so it can be fitted to any year bike. Buyer will have to colour match trim piece or paint black trim fitting to match their bike.

Happy riding.

What rear rack is that???

Kawasaki rack seems like a good solid piece of kit.

Very nice, as a newbie what pipe have you gone for and did you flash the ecu for it?

Hey Dibz

Bike feels same,  although Traction does work well and a little more reassurance. Not ridden enough yet to make real comparison off to Turkey for 11 days but going on plane mores the pity but such a hard life. lol

Don't rate the scree going to change it end of May when I come back from holiday for Cee Bailey. Lanimar Lip I added helps but far from perfect I am 5,11, also I  assume 2015 Model GTR Screen is same fixing as previous years. If anybody knows would be grateful if you could confirm before I go ordering a screen that wont fit  :help:
