I kinda like the idea as there is not much space on the GTR apart from the paniers.
As a prototype, go for it.
But the final thing It would have to be matching carbon cans for me.
Looks good and the dummy can would weigh fook all, OEM exhausts are HEAVY.
Good luck with it Norm..... you must do mucho mileage to be contemplating such a project.

They are a real good all rounder, did circa 4000 miles one trip (2 weeks) two up full luggage!
Dunno what the gen2 is like on fuel but the gen1 had a shorter range (less MPG) than the GTR

It took me all week hahaha
Took the fairings off and frame braces and left it for a few days lol
Then looked in the manual and seeing there were no special instructions apart from removing the fairing support frame and that they used the plug spanner in the tool kit....... that's the key really!
I never even thought of looking in the toolkit ::) and of course it made specially for the job.... articulated specially for the small space.
I'm sure once you have done it a few times you may get it down to somewhere near an hour, so much faffing!
The Hayabusa was sooo much easier FOR EVERYTHING! Even the fairing panels fit properly :o

Just done my plugs to see if I can get rid of my 1500rpm flatspot. Bit of a bitch, specially when you have big hands like me lol.
Side fairings off, all the clutter around the hole each side where you have to go in. Remove brace and loosen fairing stay. Take off connector to pencil coil and gently pry up and out. Use plug tool in bike tool kit and jobs a coconut.
Repeat for the other 3. Refitting is a reversal of the removal procedure, hmm heard that somewhere before! ::)
Quite simple. Just alot to take off and rather restricted access.

General Discussion / Re: Lots of GTRs on Le Tour..

Been to see it once when we stayed near Dijon, like already previously stated there is lots of waiting but if the weather is nice it's ok. Just remember to take some sun cream ::)
This year I'll try and join in on the GTR ;D Get our lass sitting backwards with the camera ;D
We will be seeing them into Gap this year and out again the next day! They pass by our hotel by 100 yards!!
Planning is where its at, you need to be near a road that you can escape when the peloton has passed down avoiding the traffic.

Excellent write up buddy.
Tis about time I did Scotland, only ever been up as far as the borders in my quarter of a million (nearly) miles on the road.
Looks great!
Did you have it mapped out on the GPS?

Has anyone been in the dash setup?
There is a USA and UK setting for MPG
Mine was set to USA for some reason which means my MPG is not as good as I thought as the US gallon is less than ours. Damn

My first motorized cycle was a Honda Express moped  ::)

Then DT125, RD125, VFR400, DT125R, ZX6R, Hayabusa, Hayabusa, Pan Euro (bought to do up and sell), GTR1400

Not even parked in a bay.
I would have taken the reg number and gone to information and told them to anounce they are about to be towed or even better they have just been stolen!

I have been to France and the continent many times. Never heard anything about this....is it a new thing?
Had 55,000 miles on me first Hayabusa, probably 25,000 in mainland europe, mainly France. Never a moments problem.

I think I may just pop along, if not only to see if the MCN babes are there and a burger  8)

I'm guessing you cut 14mm off the centre stand to make it easier to use.

I recently got the Ultra Tour Cee Bailys from NormanBates and it's one hell of a large screen.
Went out to calibrate my cruise last night and it seemed pretty good at deflecting the wind although I could feel it coming round me more.
Not tried it above 50 mph yet, but it looks promising.
The only reserve I have is the sheer weight of the thing! it's at least twice as thick as the OEM and weighs a ton.
What with the rough roads we have it moves quite a bit on the mechanism over bumps and the like, just hope it doesn't fail whilst on holiday! I'm pretty sure they tested for thousands of miles before production took place (I hope).
