I had a sheep skin on my GSA and although looking a tad weird worked very well, 850 miles in one day and no sore bottom.

Did you manage to fit the dual road hand guards. I bought some and can't get them  to fit. When I put them up to the bar end, the plastic fouls and snags on the lever bracket with or without additional weights.
Haven't got round to it yet, but I have bought a small hack saw 😗

I knocked this one up for my Garmin. Works well and simple to make. Just a quick glance down to see it but as it is Bluetoothed to my helmet not an issue.

Raising the mirrors wont do what you are thinking they will, they are too far away from the bars. I fitted Acerbis guards which fit close in front of the levers and work really well to deflect cold and wet. They seem to be unique in how they fit on, not needing any mods. Just take off the bar end weights and replace with the guards plus smaller weight to make up the difference so you keep the correct designed weight at the end of each bar. The guards are rigid and dont require a second mounting point at the other end.

I have just got a set of these guards. I guess you just replace the bar end with the guard? How do you add the extra weight? Any chance of a piccy?
The guard look the business and should work well.

New rectifier/regulator fitted and everything working great. Battery voltage showing 14.5v and abs light going off.

Earth cable to the frame was the short. Noticed this morning the battery was reading 16v and the abs light was on but when the voltage dropped to 15.2v the light went off. I am reasonably sure that the over voltage is behind the problem. Got a r/r for £39 so a cheapish fix I hope.

Managed to clear the faults codes, but abs still the same. Took the bike for a spin and then checked for fault codes. The only fault was over voltage. I checked the dash display and it was reading 16v, if memory serves me it was normally around 13.5v. I am guessing this could be the cause of my problems. Have ordered a replacement rectifier/regulator so will hopefully will resolve my problem.

1400GTR Discussion / ABS light stays on
August 23, 2017, 03:55:05 PM
Hi
I recently had a problem with a bad earth from the battery. Both high beam headlights bulbs at the same time and the abs light came on. I have sorted out the bad earth and headlights are working fine now. The ABS light will go out when I pull off but after a couple of hundred yards pops back on again. If i stop the light goes off after a few seconds.
I have checked the error codes and I have 3, power supply voltage under/over and front wheel rotation signal abnormal (sensor or rotor missing, too large clearance, rotor tooth worn or missing.
I had a sparer sensor and rotor lying around so I have fitted that and still have the same problem.
Do I have to clear the faults 1st ?. If so how do I do that, I have tried but failed.
Can I still ride the bike?
Any help on this would be gratefully received, I have very little hair left to pull out.

Thank you

Great tyres, done well over 6000 miles on them which is good for me and still life left in them. Already have another new set of them in the shed ready to replace the ones on the bike at the mo. Good allround tyre.

Brilliant, brute force to get them out, thankfully I am pretty good at that. I will fix the security bolts so I can either use a screw driver or a socket to put the bolts back in, just in case I need to take them out again.
For £100 plus vat I think it is a bit of a no brainer for what you can get back. From what I understand the gtr in over fueled and I can possibly save between 10-13% in fuel as well as better performance. Very cheap upgrade.
Thanks all for the advice on removing them bolts, I was going to drill them and use easy out thingys on them.  :whistling:

Hi,  from what I can gather the ECU is located underneath the tool box. What is the best way to remove the security bolts to get to the ECU ?
