Nice write up - it's 1 degree in central London with tiny snow flakes.... My GTR has been in hibernation since November last year!!

535kms is a nice decent ride out - takes me 2 hours to get through 5 kms in in in London!

Think you're right Debs - or I could relocate to B'mouth and our bikes could have a cuddle....... :listencarefully:

General Discussion / Garage dilemma....
February 19, 2013, 05:37:02 PM
Hi all,

I am moving to a smaller house in mid March - and unfortunately it doesn't have a garage - and the alleyway up the side of the house is way too narrow to get the metre wide beast through...

The house does have a driveway for 2 cars, so was thinking of bolting one of them metal bike garages on the drive....but..... I'd rather she was garaged.

Property is in Hillingdon UB10. Any suggestions from the GTR massive?  Ideally a local forum member, who I can trust and vice versa - obviously happy to rent a bit of garage space - £100 a month offered or any other suggestions?

Cheers

Winston - I fear you may be correct !

On a weird note, when I type 'winston' on my iPhone, the predictive text tries to change it to 'Einstein' !!!!

Something you ain't telling us??

I'd rather get cold and wet than the wife find the receipt tho....!

Dunno when I'll get to try it out - just had a kidney stone blasted by laser, now have a fucking bladder infection blah blah!

Something to look forward too - think I'm doing a 4 day tour over Easter weekend.
Cheers, the pig

Hi all,

Just popped in to Infinity at Hangar Lane, London to see about getting some new textiles.

Walked out with the Rukka Arma S jacket and trousers and a pair of Rukka gloves. I won't tell you how much, but it had  better keep me warm dry and happy!

I have obviously hidden the receipt from 'er indoors for fear of being castrated without an anesthetic!

Textiles look the danglies, will report back on them once I've done some touring. Right, off to work 25 hours a day to pay for the buggers.....

Mine is also a zumo 660 mounted in the middle - with extended 2 inch ram mount. This brings it even higher up if required - simple adjustment once installed. Im 6 "10.

Thanks Debs - I'll get one from that link - doubt I'll be using my bike anymore this year, so a short wait for delivery will be ok. Thanks for the pics - looks like a decent fabrication you've done.

Feel free to make me one....... :whistling:

I'm staying 'standard' too - like he says - if you want more power - get a Busa or a ZZR.....

......However, 25lb torque is pretty neat.  Mine spins up as it is in shite weather, so the extra 25lb torque will just ripple the tarmac. Im ooooot !

Ha ha! Ya canny beat a club hammer!!  Debs - where did you get your ram mount ball from? It looks just what I need (mine is hammered in - I imagine yours has a rubber sleeve that goes into the hole and a bolt goes in and 'swells' the rubber for a tight fit -oooer!!)

And Im waaaaaaay behind with the mods you have!  :gun_bandana:

I've no issues with it thus far - would like to get it abroad for some serious touring like my other old bikes, except this would munch the miles so much better....

Well, I finally managed to remove the rounded out hex bolt that was well and truly fu****!

Drilled it out and some mole grips did the job. Fitted the Heli risers but that meant I couldn't re-fit the original Kawasaki Garmin mount.....

I had a spare ram ball with a tapered flange - managed to belt it into the hole in the top yolk - the one in the centre!  Job jobbed (mashed it in with a club hammer and it seems to be pretty solid!!)

Really pleased with the two mods fitted this last couple of weeks - risers and Daytona heated grips.

Still gutted that I sooooooo nearly got the 2012 red GTR last week though.......But, my 2008 model has plenty of extras now, is fully serviced with new plugs etc.... so it should last a good while yet - she's only done 17,000 miles. Next expense will be PR3's next year.
