1400GTR Discussion / Re: New GTR for 2015?

Just a few questions for you....

Since it's release, how many other BIKES have VVT technology?   Nothing to compare it against there..

How many bikes have switchable fuel maps for economy (not power) as standard?...... Nothing to compare against there....

How many bikes in the last 6/7 years have electronic adjustable screens in this class of bike?

How many bikes have Tyre pressure monitoring system?  Ok, there are a few, but not many.

How many bikes have switchable linked braking technology?

There are lots of unique toys in this class of bike... and actually, no one saw this bike coming, if I remember correctly...

Much to my personal disappointment, I can't see this bike being updated in the next year...  :-(

Neil

Hi guys !!
Well, to start off with, I am NOT slating the GTR at all. I really enjoyed my bike when I owned it and that power cannot be replaced. I am however very disappointed to learn that they have not even changed the engine to the 1440cc mill that is in the new ZZR1400. I think Kawasaki have missed a trick and might lose some customers.
Having said that, I am VERY happy with my Triumph Sprint GT1050. Neil is correct, not many bikes have what the GTR has as standard. In fact, the Trumpet only has ABS ( no inverted forks etc etc ) but somehow it works !
This is the best bike I have ever owned and in my opinion, VERY underated.

Regards

Before you buy a "used" FOB (ie, one that has already been programmed), just make sure that your dealer is able to re-programme it.
I have been told by my dealer ( please take note - I have been told ) that the FOB can only be programmed ONCE.

:agree: . Waste of money for sure.
And besides, the GTR brakes are good enough as it is.

Took the plunge and have decided to trade my GTR for a Triumph GT1050.
Love the GTR but feel like a change and something lighter and less bulky. I would like to take this opportunity to thank ALL of you that makes this forum very interesting and informative. I have learnt a lot from many of you and I know you guys will continue to keep this one of the most informative forums around.

Cheers and please keep it upright !!!!!

Well, after nearly 40 years of riding Kawasaki ONLY, I think the time has come to make a change.
Busy looking (and negotiating ) on trading the GTR in on a Triumph GT1050.
I love the GTR but I think it's time for something a bit less "lardy". Getting the GT1050 next week for a couple of days to see how I get on with it.
Has anyone on this forum got any feedback on the GT1050 ? Would be nice to hear your views. Lots of reading on the net and forums has given me the impression that their owners are happy with them.

Nope, bike is perfect. Get a weave at about 200 Km/H. Without topbox and panniers, no weave at all.

You would certainly think so but I've got the standard 47ltr box which up until recently I've kept on the bike permanently and I've never experienced any weave on the Gtr.

Then you are not going fast enough !!!   :mfr_lol:
Bike certainly does weave at high speed with topbox fitted and riding alone.
