After 10 years and 45 thousand miles I finally have to admit that the Black Beast has become too much for me. At almost 72 I still do not feel ready to stop riding so have just part exchanged the GTR for a Motto Guzzi V7 which I should be able to manage for a few more years. Now all I have to do is get used to a very different bike and modify it to suit my needs. All the very best to you all and thank you for all the sound advice I have received over the years.
Ride safe,
Gonome.

Contacted today by a supposed PC Day from Paddington Police Station serious fraud office. Someone was supposedly using a credit card with our details on it. Luckily her ladyship is very tuned in to this kind of fraud and continued to question him until he finally hung up. Reported the call but do not expect anything to come of that. They are out there :gun_bandana: :gun_bandana: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

Skidmarx rear hugger fitted. Also use their headlight cover. Always had excellent service from them.

Pics as promised.

As you can see the rig fits just in front of the top box. I usually keep the flags furled until needed as this is less strain on the rig and less wear to the flags. I have had this rig for a number of years and never had any problems. As you can see it comfortable accommodates two 3x2 ft flags. I only keep the rig on the bike when flags are needed. Pendent is mounted on a length of 6mm threaded bar. I have tried a variety of whip aerials, none of which worked. The pendent stays permanently mounted on the top box.

I have a rig for two 3x2ft flags.

Will post pics some time this week when I put the rig on for a funeral escort on Friday.

Hi Pete,
I use Duracell CR2032. Readily available from the likes of Sainsburys.

Just spent a week volunteering at Royal International Air Tattoo as a biker escort. This involved riding all day escorting vehicles around the site at speeds varying from 15 to 25mph with extended periods stationary. Temperature went very quickly up to three bars when the fans kicked in and then the temperature went no higher.
