Thank you. I had not come across that site and it helped a lot. You were right that I really needed to see how Led Light Accessories Connector / Power Wire LED Power Supplies diodes worked and when I saw that understanding the LED was easy.

Because they are LED there is very little power consumtion. Take off the small cover under the nose cone (four press studs) there you will find two wires going to the side light bulbs, just splice into those. Remember to connect the right way around as leds will only work with the correct polarity
