Hi All, sorry I missed the meet up this year...I always wanted to go to the lake district, but schedule this year didn't work out.
I'll be back to Europe next week.
Cheers to all, and hopefully next year!  :biker3:

PS: did you guys have a planned ride or just did hang out with Steve and Asif at the pub all week-end!!

What I don't like is following people who spend half their time looking at the SatNav.
When yer riding you need 100% attention on the road ahead and the world around you.

Well George, you followed me all day through Wales, and I spent a lot of time looking at it !! :mfr_lol:

Hi Johan, I sent you a PM so we can meet this Sunday and have dinner in Amsterdam. Let me know if you can or not. Cheers, Stéphane

The most important to me between Garmin and Tom Tom, is custom routes, and customer service.
Tom Tom is poor in both, if you really know how to use your 660 (few riders do) it is a great Satnav, interaction between BaseCamp or Map Source or directly imputing the Poi's on the device is second to none.

Then, my device crashed last year ( bought it in 2009), I sent it for repair, they told me to pay 145 Euros first before they even looked at it, I did, then they told me that my device was beyond repair and sent me a new one. For 145 Euros that was well worth it!

Thanks to all, great weekend and company. We enjoyed touring the Welsh country side, and thanks to Neil for putting the Frenchy in charge of leading the UK group, I only saw my Satnav, apparently scenery was nice too! We made it home ok and are looking forward to the next edition. Cheers Steph and Lizette

Leaving tomorrow, picking up my wife at work and direction Calais, where we will overnight. Small hotel, great food. We should be at the Belfry Friday early afternoon or so.
Weather looks good on this side of the Channel, how about, Gloucester area? See y'all there. :biker3:

Hey Frenchbiker,

I was on gtrmania.com before I moved to Italy...  is gtrmania.fr owned by the same people?  Looks similar but doesn't seem to have been active since April 2012

I was trying to get on gtrmania.com with my gtrmania.fr credentials by mistake

Cheers

Guys running the .com all quit and website codes were handed over, and they created the gtrmania.fr , you would have to re-register if you want to be active...

Just had a quick look but it's in French, I don't speak French.  Is there a way to translate it to Yorkshire?

Steve, first try to find a google translation from this forum website to Yorkshire, then try French !!  :mfr_lol:

Colin, likewise, looking forward to seeing you and Clare. BTW, Mika told me you didn't attend the TDT, although you were signed up...

Hi All, Lizette and I just got back from the French GTR meet up, 35 participants, 17 GTR 1400 and 1 Honda and 1 Yamaha !!
It took place is southwest of France, in the beautiful region of Lot and Dordogne.
After 2834 Kms in 5 days from Amsterdam and back, duck, duck and duck in all different ways you can imagine, liters of rosé, we are back home to get ready again for our GTR UK meet up next week!
See y'all there !!

Great support from spouses and partners !!

Nice touch from the chef !

Small participation, nonetheless, from Kawasaki France, they sent us marketing materials, hats, flags and pens with a greeting card, not bad for such an expensive machine !!

Stefan,

I plan on having a ride out on Saturday.  Could head towards Brecon and the Beacons, maybe even the Penderyn Welsh whiskey distillery. I'll think of a few routes that could be options.

Great plan Viv !! Always in the mood  for a new Whiskey flavor

I've just been speaking with Josh @ The Belfry to book a room for my business trip down south west and he informs me that there is only one room left    .....................we appear to have filled the rest for the weekend of the 13/06/14 ..........................so it must be  ......................Party Time  :sleep1:

Are you sure it is for business, not a reckoning trip to get the best room and seat in the house  :mfr_lol: Just kidding, do report when back, specially on prices of bottles of wine !!
