General Discussion / Re: Time to move on.

Sold to a guy in the Lake District, I hope he will appear on here.

Yes the Fuoco is the "funny" 3 wheeler thing. I am very happy with it, only got a 5 mile commute so don't need a biggie, easy to ride, park, manoeuvre. Costs next to nothing to run. Still got the Zephyr for "summer" rides (whenever that maybe?)

I will lurk in the shadows as the comments/discussions can be entertaining

After 10 years ownership I am putting the GTR up for sale, not replacing it with a GS or Versys, not doing the big tours or any long distance rides any more. I will continue to use the Zephyr 1100 for pooling about and the Fuoco for my 5 mile commute.

Been interesting lurking in the shadows and may still log in now and then

Piers Morgan.... I won't beat about the bush, who else thinks he's an arrogant, patronising, argumentative prick?

Me too

Have you had your wheels rebalanced to account for the extra weight ?

I one fitted 90 degree valve extensions and it totally ruined the handling

If it turns over then you have eliminated all the electrical overrides such as faulty side stand switch, false neutral, faulty engine kill switch. If it were any of these or others not thought of then the bike would not turn over.
Do try with a new fully charged battery or jump start from a running car(very difficult to get jump leads attached)

Good luck

In Mijas right now, 24c and no potholes, going for a ride in the mountains on Monday, clear blue skies, no traffic

Have a great weekend

I got mine off eBay, cost £175 in 2017
try breakers,
check if ZZR pump is the same spec as there are more of them at breakers

Not in my experience, weight as expected for a 1400cc tourer, never had a problem with gearbox, the only reliability issue I had was with a battery that gave up

But its got all the toys that the GTR doesn't have, cruise control, integrated sat nav, integrated music, a screen that detects wind and noise.

Now I'm not going to criticize the excellent 2009 ABS that I have owned and ridden for the last 6 years. But I had to spend a lot of time and money to make it right for me, different screens, bolt on sat nav, Bluetooth music in pocket which need charging, bar risers.

Each year the forum members would speculate whether this was the year that they would launch the mk3 with all the mods that you have all been asking for, but it never came. Other manufacturers came out with better spec'ced alternatives (KTM 1290 if it didn't look like lady parts) Multistrada, S1000xrr, even Kawasaki's own Z1000SX, but none have the power or the presence of the GTR.

The K1600 has all the toys and more, heated seats, heated grips, riding modes, electronic suspension adjustments and all the powere and presence you could ever want.

As I said in my original post, I am not riding as much or as far as I used to so do not need to replace the GTR as I have other bikes which meet my needs, but I still got an itch for the K16

I may think again next spring
