1400GTR Discussion / Re: The tyre review thread
May 05, 2011, 04:43:56 PM
I've done 2000 miles on the Avon storm ultra 2s and rate them as a good tyre in all conditions.  I read the review in bike magazine.  Can't say I agree with their opinion.

I'm getting 45 - 50 mpg on a 2009 bike.  50 mpg on my Plymouth/Doncaster trips 80 - 90 mph cruising.

The low fuel warning was up.  Hoping it's just normal due to the heat.

1400GTR Discussion / Pressure in tank?
April 08, 2011, 03:10:05 PM
Just been for a spin in the glorious sunshine.  On parking up could hear the Loud sound of air hissing from the tank.  Not sure if it was pressurised or the pump pulling a vacuum.  Equalised by opening fuel cap.  Anyone seen this?

I fitted one 4000 miles ago and to be honest have not noticed any difference in performance or economy.

What about the fartholder at the bottom?

What is that for?

Doesn't look gas tight to me.

As explained above.  Just slips on the grip.
Good for long motorway/dual carriageway trips.  Easy to remove for other riding.
Works for me on my Plymouth/Doncaster 2 weekly run.

Works for me.  Needs to be adjusted right but easy to do on the move.

Recently fitted one of these to make my 2 weekly Plymouth to Doncaster,  Doncaster to Plymouth trip a bit more pleasant.  Stops the cramp/numbness I was suffering from on this 5-6 hour trip.
Not bad for less than £10.  Allows the the right hand to relax a bit more.  Dosn't get in the way at all in town/on the twisties.

Hi there.  Owned my GTR for 6 months now.
Mods are Beowulf black warrior exhaust,  Rear hugger, Fender extender,  Bigger screen,  Top box and Pannier liners.
loving it so far.  Not too keen on OE tyres as no one is!
Also struggling to set up rear shock - too hard,  still tweaking.
All for now.   ;D

Btw:  what happened to the other owners forum??
