Messages - Mr Blek

Mr Bates, I see these come with battery packs. Do you know if they heat the entire jacket or is it just a subset? This isn't for motorbike riding but hiking.

Chaps, these certainly are illegal to use on a public road. Having said that, the ZZR had these installed and, when used, traffic would melt like butter.

It's a risk using these as the boys in blue will take a dim view.

A leaf blower certainly is handy when drying the bike. ACF50 is probably the best treatment for your bike. A little goes a long way and it will protect your bike from the salt on the roads

A belated merry xmas or rather (as I'm in wales) Nadolig Llawen!
The old liver is processing vast amounts of alchohol

Rear panniers too small. It does have an imposing presence, no doubt.

General Discussion / Re: Anyone use Rukka Gore-Tex kit?
November 14, 2010, 06:45:24 PM
You won't go wrong with Rukka or Hein Gericke. Rukka has the upperhand when it comes to quality when I consider I've had my Rukka clothing for going on eight years. Yes, they are due a change, but that is more to do with my growing waistline than the clothing. Although I tend to ride more in the summer, I've no doubt that Rukka would handle the winter climate successfully.

There is also Frank Thomas and Dianese clothing but my first consideration would be Rukka.

Welcome old chap. As a former ZZR owner I am envious that you have the privledge of owning both bikes simultaneously. Compared to the ZZR, the GTR is more detuned but a far better touring bike and general all rounder. I do miss the power though and can see a new ZZR gracing the forecourt this summer alongside the GTR.

Enjoy the ride.

What you have there is racing fuel cap. Turps or equivalent solvent should get the writing off

Nothing planned in the immediate future but on the list is Route 66.

I'll probably end up hiring a cruiser spend a good few month touring the states. Not in 2011 but definitely in the near future.

Mr Bates, if your intention is to get noticed then I believe you have accomplished that aim.

I will refrain from making any further comments.

Chaps, is it possible to retrofit the luggage compartment of the earlier model onto the 2010 model? I have no need for a tank bag and it makes sense to utlitise that space effectively.

As our cousin accross the pond, frenchbiker, has done, its seems to be a good place to mount the fuse block, although under the seat maybe a better option depending on your needs.

Old chap, that is an absolutely splendid writeup and is an indication of the immense joy that only a bike can bring. There are many a tour that is but a distant memory as we never catalogued the journey.

General Discussion / Winter
September 18, 2010, 10:06:28 AM
Chaps, remember to keep the bike shiny side up this winter. The bastard enemies of the rider aren't limited to idiot car drivers, but include the leaves, white lines, drains in the middle of the road, and my new favourite enemy, the black lines on the motorway. Having these painted at the point a bike will accelerate out of a bend is beyond belief. The ZZR performed a tank slap of the highest magnitude. In all honesty I don't know how the bike managed to stay upright and recover.

Agree with Mr Bates. Mr Blek possess a thick skin when ripping of software that has made some billionaires, but draws the line at the little man.

Chaps, you might get a discount on a bulk order instead.
