Within the City walls is a Travelodge, walking distance from the City Centre. I dont know if secure bike parking is available but you could always ask, like most travelodges the price are reasonable if booked early. Otherwise you could try BnBs but prices in York can be expensive.

Hi,
Regarding a time and date for a ride to Blackpool....Because the lights are being switched on at the end of August, maybe wait unitl the back end of September to liase a time/date, that way the excitement of the switch on will dwindle down and maybe, it won't be so busy,also I am away the 3rd week

If anyone else is interested  put names on here so a suitable meeting place can be arranged.....

It would appear that the Blackpool Lights are being switched on at the end of August..Just a thought but would any of the northern contingent fancy a late afternoon ride over to Blackpool..have some good old Fish n Chips....ride along the front when dark to see the lights...then Blast back home. I mean steady ride home.

Many Thanks for the replies and the advice..I am going to have a Dry run this weekend and a trip around the block to confirm suitability of my Loading......Tie downs etc... before we set off for Norfolk next week.

Ok...I have the straps for the handlebars but dont trust just one set of straps all the way to Norfolk
Dont want to scratch the frame or bend anything or the worst possible....it falls off the trailer...will have to have a dry run putting it on this weekend
