Why? What are you trying to do? You can lower it about ½ inch but you'll need to remove all put one of the mounts. Putting the mounts back is not a simple task if you want it done right.

I have a rear extender that has never been installed. I'll have to dig around to see if I can find it.

General Discussion / ECU Flash
February 28, 2020, 07:39:52 AM
In January I asked if there was enough interest to justify the expense of setting up the equipment to offer the Shoodaben Engineering ECU flash here in the EU. The answer was yes.

I am now accepting orders for the Mountain Runner series of flashes for the GTR1400. I'm located in Bavaria, Germany. Contact me at [email protected] with questions or for shipping instructions. Please include your phone number.

Details of each flash may be seen here. https://sites.google.com/site/shoodabenengineering/concours1400

Best regards.

I have purchased the hardware used to access the GTR1400 ECU and expect delivery in early February. Cost will be 350 euro, upgrades are 75 euro. That includes return shipping within the EU and UK with insurance and signature tracking. If you want to get an estimate for shipping to me I'm in Germany, post code 85456 Wartenberg. I suggest 1000 euro insurance and signature tracking. All flash service will be with the Shoodaben Engineering (Steve Sefsick) files Mountain Runner / Hammer etc. https://sites.google.com/site/shoodabenengineering/concours1400

1400GTR Discussion / Re: Stolen Panniers
January 09, 2020, 08:20:07 PM
There is a vulnerability with the lock that allows a knowledgable thief to open the lock without a key. There is also a mod to prevent this. I modified my locks several years ago. In the next few days I'll pull a lock out to show what needs to be done and post some photos. As far as the bags coming off while riding it has happened to all years. The number one cause is loose screws inside that hold the handle/lock assembly in place. Next is incorrectly attaching the bag to the bike.

I don't have the gt tire but I have been running a 155 rear tire for several years. There is not a huge difference but it is noticeable.

My name is Michael Cox, I currently live in Bavaria. I ride a 2009 GTR1400 with an Area P full header system and the Shoodaben Engineering Mountain Runner ECU flash. If you visit https://sites.google.com/site/shoodabenengineering/concours1400  you will see my time slip at the bottom of the page.

If there is enough interest I will be offering all versions of the Shoodaben ECU flash here in Germany. No need to ship your ECU across the pond. If your interested or have additional questions please email at [email protected]

Ride hard, ride safe. Ride your own ride.
