Quote from: Rynglieder on July 12, 2023, 06:12:39 PMReally nice to see those.

It's a pity the GTR community does not seem so knitted together these days.

Yes, we met up briefly at Tyndrum a while ago. Met some great people.

I removed mine as the batteries had died. I now have normal valves in.

The fork is back in the bike. I've road tested it and it's still dry, result.

Bob you are a star.
I bought one of these

Then cut it in half, cleaned the cuts up and indeed, Robert is your father's brother.
Just under £2

Hi all,
I haven't posted for a while. Been busy with other things but still using the GTR1400 and loving it, hope you all are still ?

Anyhow, one of my fork seals decided to leak, so being a tight yorkshireman, I decided to remove the fork and "have a go" myself. I've discovered that you need to make a suitable tool to pull down the plastic tube and reveal a nut (done that). I have aslo discovered that I'm ham fisted and can't install a new seal without ruining it !! (or having the correct equipment)

I ordered an adjustable tool from fleabay and it has been lost by Royal snail. So I'm in the process of getting a refund.

So Amazon to the rescue, but it's not arriving until mid-next week, to my work address. Is there anyone local to Middlesbrough who has one I could borrow for this job, or come round and show me how to do it ?

Hope it's not too cheeky with being off the forum for so long !

I've just changed from a set of Angel GT11 to Road 5's.
I got around 7000 miles out of those Pirelli's, let's see how the Michelins do.

Looks like KHI are planning to release a GTR 1400 in the States in 2022

You're not likely to tempt some of these boys away from their BMW's now I'm afraid.

I would be back to the dealer for repair.
I have changed the fluid myself and it can be a pain getting rid of all the air which takes time. The dealers don't seem to want to spend a lot of time on it.

I was hoping to have a chat with Steve at the Scotland meeting but it wasn't to be....maybe another time

On the weekend of Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th June, I and a few friends decided to have a Summer solstice rideout. We left Teesside at Midday on Saturday and rode over to Caernarfon, North Wales to watch the sunset beside the Castle. We then rode over to Whitby, North Yorkshire to watch it rise again.
We had a great time and the weather was very kind to us.
My wife took some photo's and I did a bit of droning. The video is here https://youtu.be/0uF4n2QWp7A if you want to watch.
The bike ran faultlessly and was super smooth all the way, 2 up. She's just ran over 30k miles now. We got back home to Middlesbrough around 6am on Sunday and enjoyed every minute of it.
