1400GTR Discussion / Re: Camshaft timing marks off?

What I dont understand is why the intake timing mark is 1mm high? The VVT must be in neutral initially?

Hi Boomer, thanks for replying. The VVT is fixed to the intake cam so I'm not sure what your trying to tell me? Are you saying the VVT moves? Ride safe

1400GTR Discussion / Camshaft timing marks off?
April 18, 2022, 07:06:45 AM
Hi guys, hope I've posted this in the correct section if not can admin move please? I have replaced valves & timing chain on my 2017 (long story) but for some reason when the crank is set at TDC the intake & exhaust cam timing marks are off by about 1mm, intake mark being high & exhaust being low?  Would anyone know if this is acceptable or not? Tried to send pic's but do not have correct format. Thanks

Does anybody know if you can just drop the front of the engine down or does it have to be removed? Cheers, ride safe

Hi, does anyone know where to buy the front disc buttons & their dimensions?
Mine are badly corroded & believe you can drill them out & replace them with aftermarket ones.
Thanks!

1400GTR Discussion / Re: Purge/sep/vent canister?

Thanks for the replies. I bought my GTR in Thailand & was told it was a UK ( European model ) so I'm going to have to do some checking into why it might be a Californian model.

1400GTR Discussion / Purge/sep/vent canister?

After stripping my bike down for the spark plug change noticed a canister on the r/h side just under the handle bar. Anybody know what it's for is it supposed to do, is it a serviced item? Cheers

Hi guys, I was wondering if any body had removed the secondary butterflies & had just run it stock with no reflash or PCV? Is there a risk of engine damage? Cheers

Thanks f or the reply, the idle has been set at 1300, that's why I'm thinking maybe throttle sync. I'm going to change my spark plugs first maybe that will help?

1400GTR Discussion / Throttle bodies sync
April 19, 2020, 04:53:29 AM
Hi, I've a GTR with 28,000 miles on the clock. It seems to hunt when cold. Has anyone done a throttle body sync on their GTR. From what i've Researched & read in the manual is confusing to me. So if someone can give me some guidance or " how to" I'd be very appreciative. Thanks  :ohplease:
