Scorchio in Edinburgh today - and the good news is that the electrical issue is sorted! It was a bad earth, the auto spark traced the fault and made a new earth which solved it. Best £40 I've ever spent.

Loving the forum folks - Bought my 2009 GTR1400 in January and loving it.  Slightly overdone in the electrics dept for my liking but am really enjoying it.

1400GTR Discussion / Re: The tyre review thread

I'm obsessed with tyres; only bit of the bike that touches the road.  I fitted Avon Storm 3D X-M and am very impressed.  I've had Avons on lighter bikes in the past but they handle the GTR really, really well and are great value.

They compare really well against the Michelin and Bridgestones

Just my opinion.

Hi Folks, first time post.  Here goes

I have a buzzing noise coming from the 3rd relay box located under the front left fairing panel.  When the bike starts up the buzzing begins and on the instrument panel indicator and main beam lights stay on and don't go off as they should.  This means I have no headlight or flashers.

I was riding on Saturday and this happened once, so I turned it off and on again (just like the IT crowd suggest) and it was fine.  On Sunday morning I went out to the bike and started it and this problem wouldn't go away.  Basically riding with no headlight, no indicators and the dash panel lights staying on, as is the buzzing from the relay.

I have tried changing the relay, to no avail and also changed the relay assembly (located at the rear under the seat - the one with 3 plugs) again to no avail.  It is booked in to Kirkcaldy Kawasaki for diagnosis on the 21st July but I wondered if anyone had any similar problems or knew of any experts in the Edinburgh area who could assist.

I've also checked fuses.

Bike is a 2009 ABS GTR1400.

Any help much appreciated.

Kenny
