I have an old invoice in the paperwork i was given that shows the sensors were removed when they had new tyres. Just seemed strange to me...

1400GTR Discussion / Tyre pressure sensors
September 04, 2018, 09:38:04 AM
Since purchasing my 2008 GTR my tyre pressure sensors have never worked (just a dash on the display). It has never particularly bothered me but after going through some of the paperwork i noticed on some old invoices that the previous owner had the sensors removed from tyres... again I'm not that bothered that they are gone but i cant understand why someone would want to remove them? are they that expensive to change batteries or do they add to the cost of replacement tyres?

Thanks

General Discussion / Re: Carrying child pillions

Just to clarify... I'm not going to take my 6 year old out on the bike for a while yet! I just wanted to know others opinions and experiences with children being carried and what age theirs first went on a proper ride. My son is very happy just going up and down the cul de sac as I mentioned.

If I'm honest I think after 5 minutes or so he would get quite bored just staring at my back. I am looking forward to taking him on a trip eventually though (whether he wants to go or not!)

As for the law I did ask when I took my test about 5 years ago and I was told that as long as their feet comfortably reach the pegs they can ride! I guess as you can't really see a rough age with a helmet on there's not much point in putting an age restriction?

General Discussion / Carrying child pillions

Whats everyone's thoughts on carrying child pillions? what sort of age did you first take your children on the back? My son is nearly 6 (but very tall for his age) and can reach the pegs so as i understand it he can legally ride but i wouldn't feel comfortable taking him further than up and down the cul-de-sac as I often do after cleaning the bike etc

Well I went London Friday and parked up at Brent cross and used the underground doebag your directions were perfect thanks alot! The natural history museum was brilliant as well, well worth the trip! I was really impressed with how efficient the trains were as well!

Just to finish on a bad note, when I got home I stepped off the bike and dropped it... Still not sure what happened! Most of the damage has been polished out but I do have a chunk missing from the right fairing just under the wing mirror but lucky that was all!

Thanks again!

Is it all fairly straight forward catching the tube? All displayed what to catch etc? Like I say, I've never even been on a train!

Bet it's not often people on here are discouraged from riding their GTR  :mfr_lol:

I appreciate it. I thought I was being a bit OTT having all these questions about driving to London but seems I was right. I was only going on the bike as I thought it would be easier for parking and getting about than in the car. can't say riding 100 miles down the M1 is a nice ride!

I'm only going as I've always wanted to see the natural history museum!

Hello all,

These questions may sound daft but i've never been to London before so want to double check my google homework!

I want to ride down to London from Leicester on Saturday to visit the natural history museum and I'm a little confused by congestion charge. Am i right in thinking i don't need to pay on a Saturday? are motorbikes even subject to a charge weekdays?

I have also seen there are motorcycle bays. These look quite common on a map I've seen, are the easy to spot? do I just phone the number when i find one and pay?

Anything else i should be aware of other than lots of traffic?

Again, sorry if these seem stupid questions but i've never been!

Cheers, Ryan
