Would have been nice if the toolkit had an Alen key that fitted the plate covering the battery ffs, I was gonna bring  more tools but the missus insisted on the kitchen sink.

It's a 2017 model,  not an experienced mechanic so would know the answer to that.

Battery is 2.5 years old and is always on an optimate when not in use. Just returned to the bike and it's gone from 12.3 to 12.4v ! Not sure what is going on.

Hi folks in desperate need of advice from anyone experiencing similar.

I am in Spain touring  at moment, yesterday midway thru the day and after a fest break I  got a kTRC error, an abs error and a low battery warning on start up. Turned off and on  and all returned to normal.

This morning I turned  ignition on and on starting I got just the low battery warning, showing 12.1 v. Then after stopping late in the day and filling I got all three warnings again, but all went out when turning off and on.

Just got to hotel,  battery showing 11.9v,  10 mins later showing 12.3v. Watching the charge rate thru the day it was runnng mainly between 13.8 and 14.1v

Am now thinking of cutting short the holiday and running for home as i am not too sure what sort of service I am likely to get over here if I need it.

Anyone had anything similar, tried searching but internet too slow, any help appreciated.

Thanks for the comments guys, was hoping for a few more from people that have fitted the Kwak gel seat, but maybe not many have?

Accessories, Farkels and Mods / Kawasaki Gel Seat

Hi Folks

I apologise in advance as I'm sure this has been posted before....

I have a standard GTR 1400 seat and I find it quite uncomfortable after about 100 miles so the reports I have seen suggesting the gel seat is harder is a little disappointing.

My main reason for looking at getting one is to lower the bike slightly, the extra inch lowered I think would make a big difference to my feet position relative to the floor, currently one foot flat and once foot on the ball of my foot.

However 400 quid for a new one is a hefty price to pay for a seat that isnt that much lower and more uncomfortable and is not something I would like to do without some good feedback on the Gel seat and its effects on the bike.

Anyone got one and not like it and have it for sale at reasonable cost local to me North Notts area.

I don't get a message in the multi display saying it's working either and my handbook doesn't mention display messages, later model ????

1400GTR Discussion / New to GTR......KTRC
April 22, 2017, 12:49:46 PM
Hi folks, picked up my  GTR yesterday. Awesome bike, but I am a little confused by the KTRC. Did a search but couldn't find an answer so apologies for being dumb...lol. user manual is hopeless.

When you turn the ignition on the KTRC light is flashing this I assume is default and it tells me it's on? If I turn KTRC off the light stays on?

The light then goes off when riding. With KTRC selected on, I assume any activation of the system brings the light back on to tell you it's kicked in?

If anyone could confirm or correct my assumptions, would be appreciated.
