I still have a brand new L/H mirror assembly for sale at half price if you are interested but you will need to use your original coloured panel to finish the installation.

The l/h mirror assembly is stored in my garage but the GTR has been sold - I don't like the idea of a home based entrepreneur getting a bargain on eBay - so, I am open to reasonable offers on this posting and I will bear the cost of postage.

Only the l/h mirror to go - seriously, has no one dropped their bike - is it too early in the year - have you all got crash bars - come and beat Mr K at his own game for not supplying a £10 mirror cover unless you buy the whole unit for £140 or I can wait until someone wants or knows someone who wants a bargain!!!

Hi Shaggs - pm sent confirming purchase - yes, 2010 bike and perfect job on quite deep stone chips as you put three layers into the hole with a 'toothpick' - seriously!!!

I had composed this advert earlier and posted without donation which omission has been corrected.

I have a complete new L/H mirror assembly for a 2010 (2nd generation) model. Bought for £140 and selling for £70 including p/p BUT there is no coloured plastic cover included as Mr K does not supply this as a single item.

A pair of Givi T443/T35 inner bags correctly shaped for the GTR panniers Bought for £60, used once and selling for £30 including p/p.

A touch up paint kit from RS Paints and correctly matched for Candy Neptune Blue consisting of water based black base coat, CNB pearlescent colour coat and a  clear lacquer coat. Bought for £30 for paint chips and selling for £15 including p/p.

Items located near Guildford, Surrey but happy to post UK on receipt of monies by bank transfer.

Mate metal mends quickly we don't and as the pilots say any landing you can walk away from is a good landing ..pleased ya ok 😊
However as this also happened to a mate of mine .. you can put a claim in thru the M.I.B ..NO not the film .. when there is no 3rd party to claim against the afore mentioned is available ..you can claim back your excess any riding kit damaged and injuries .
It is a long drawn out process but for those that need it it's invaluable 😊
Hope this is of some help to you and others 😊
Thank you so much for sharing this information - it is so valuable to get this sort of advice when things go pear shaped - I put up a similar post for Boomer but I think he had spare parts already and probably did not want the hassle of dealing with faceless people.

Any criticism of the traction control or lack of it?

Thanks for the reply - I would probably have dealt with the issue as you have done.  I did, however, think it worth discussing the MIB for those unaware of that alternative. Glad you are well and have fully recovered enough to start repairs!!

Can we get this moved to General Discussions - I didn't realise I was still on the dark side !! This subject will get complicated with reports to Police and Insurance Companies plus time constraints on reporting.

I hope the subject in capitals will attract your attention to the situation reported by Boomer in another thread. He has been involved in an accident where the car in front of him was in collision with another coming in the opposite direction. Boomer lost control of his motorcycle whereby he was injured, the bike was damaged but there was no contact with the car in front. This is not the place to comment any further on his reactions but there is photographic evidence of the scene, the female driver and her car. The main issue is the other car failed to stop at the scene and in those circumstances becomes an 'untraceable driver' and falls within the remit of the MOTOR INSURERS BUREAU. We are all aware that sometimes the action of another road user can cause us to overreact and end up on the deck. If that driver stops then there is room for argument as to who was responsible for the accident or indeed apportion blame. In his absence there is a one sided claim without any criticism of reaction or control, if you see where I am coming from, and you need to visit the MIB website to understand the criteria for making a successful claim.

I've just seen your photos. Did you get the ladies name and did you blank out the registration?

Ok - you have the photo evidence, maybe with time and date and possibly registration or name of driver of the damaged car. Why? well you have a failing to stop and the circumstances are exactly the same as a solicitor friend of mine who put a successful claim to the Motor Insurers Bureau. It's there for such accidents and as the solicitor said to me afterwards, there was no apportionment of blame to challenge the outcome. Let us know how you get on, please, as I've taken the time to advise you.

Well that's another £50 worth of useless plastic - got the receipt? then it's not fit for purpose whenever it was bought. Mine is still holding up but I look at both panels after each ride.
