I'm obsessed with tyres; only bit of the bike that touches the road.  I fitted Avon Storm 3D X-M and am very impressed.  I've had Avons on lighter bikes in the past but they handle the GTR really, really well and are great value.

They compare really well against the Michelin and Bridgestones

Just my opinion.

Going to try a set of Continental Road Attack 3 GT version,if the price is right ,otherwise Angels will go back on.
Probably wont get the same kms out of the rear, reason ECU has been upgraded to the Mountain Runner flash,as a consequence there is buckets of low down/mid range and top end power on tap now which I have no doubt will increase tyre rear wear.
But time will tell.

If you want more down low torque, mid range torque and a bit more power up top with a standard muffler or after market  slip on without removing the secondary flies and still keep all traction control and ECO modes, if yours is a late model that is, go to this web link:

Mountain Runner ECU flash is the answer.
How do I know,I have the Mountain Runner ECU upgrade, awesome.

From my experience when I purchased a new 2014 GTR1400 I found the brakes to be very ordinary until they were bed in,which is the case with all disc brakes. But having said that after fitting metal sintered pads after they were bed in braking performance at any speed was out standing compared to OEM pads.

Wwell just got back from my first ride on the gtr nice and smooth when moving carrys its wieght better than i thought it would handing was good fairly impressed, bad points low down power i thought was poor between 2 and 5 thousand rpm no were near as good as my zx12r ,so hope it gets better with more miles

Easy fix for the power situation,Shouldabeen "Mountain Runner" flash,You will have all the low down, mid range and top end power your heart desires, with improved fuel economy.
It will probably smoke the ZX12? or very similar performance IMHO.
With the Mountain Runner flash increased power starts from idle up,strong right through the rev range,no revving it to 7000 rpm to make it "light up".

Currently my 2014 GTR1400 has the SISF Mountain Runner flash.Bike is stock standard in terms of exhaust and air filter.
Power/torque from 1500rpm up.
Low down torque and mid range torque is out standing, fuel economy has increased from 5.5ltrs per 100kms. to 4.8ltrs per 100kms that close to ECO mode its not funny.
Engine doesn't have to revved to around 4000rpm to achieve outstanding acceleration now.
Powers up steep hills/mountains easily in a gear or 2 higher due to the increased torque.
Great deceleration on throttle back off.
Smooth gear changes with out drive line snatch even when going on and off throttle.

To any body out there who has a Scorpion slip on fitted,
1.Do they drone at highway speeds.
2.Any fueling concerns,i.e.,flat spots, hesitation of any kind through the rev range.
3.Do you need to wear ear plugs when cruising,in other words is the exhaust note loud enough to hear at highway speeds.
4.Any more power with this slip on in real terms.
Any feed back would be appreciated, even on other slip ons which may fit the requirement of a good looking, quiet replacement for the original from actual owners to have made the upgrade.

Mines a 2014 plate model, starting rattle on initial start up around  9000 kms, ran motul 7100 10w/60 noise disappeared .I think the thicker oil  pushed the timing chain tensioner to the next ratchet groove.
Have been running Amsoil 10w 40 ever since,no noise on start up now even after the engine has not been started for a month or more. Now has 15,500kms on it.

The links are as follows: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorcycle/brake-discs/bike/kawasaki/2014/gtr1400/brembo-replacement-upgrade-disc-front
https://www.bikehps.com/acatalog/Brembo_Brake_Discs_for_Kawasaki_Motorcycles.html
Unfortunately the OEM rotors here in Australia due I guess to the hot condition etc tend to suffer from brake shudder after a while.Hence the upgrade.

Has anybody fitted one of these Brembo 320mm upgrades to their GTR1400?.If so I would be interested in any feedback on the end result in terms of braking performance ,link brake operation etc.
Or the Brembo 310mm Replacement Upgrade Disc Front kit for a GTR1400.
Apparently the ZX14R uses the same rotorS as the GTR1400 on the front.
