The Market / Re: EFF For Sale

Thanks O.C.  No a 2016 Sport SE with 2200 miles.  I know what you're saying Robbieben but having done France last year and discussed it with SWMBO, we've decided that our days of long distance touring are over ( a knee injury that won't really improve has seen to that ).  A long weekend away will be our lot now so luggage capacity not such an issue now, although I do have a large Givi top box which would only need a fitting plate and SHAD do a nice looking range of panniers. The XR seemed like fun to ride and I'm looking forward to getting to know it.  :cheesy:   Oh and re. the silencer, any pics and how much you looking??

Thanks O.C.  Replacement already sorted, or at least will be on Tuesday.  Got to the GTR from a Versys 1000 and fancied going back to the adventure type bike so have gone for a BMW S1000XR.

Hi folks.

:mfr_lol:  Can't believe it was ever mentioned again

:agree:  and as I can think of nothing else that fulfills my needs any better, I intend to keep this one for a while.  Perhaps a set of these bars is called for...despite the price

Oh and sorry snowr0 for hi-jacking your post

Any bike could 'lose' the front end on diesel/water/curves....  Even more so if the tires aren't properly inflated or worn.

The GTR/C14 is not prone to losing anything except the side cases, at least whilst anyone is watching.  I've never experienced anything like that.  Does your mate ride a GTR?  I haven't heard of that and I've been riding a GTR/C14 since 2007.  It's the best bike I've ever ridden.

No he was on an R1200RT.  I've not had the GTR for long but have hankered for one for years.  I am not disappointed in it in any way and it is a great handling bike.  The tyres were good though I was within the last 30 miles of home after a trip to France.  I did keep an eye on tyre pressures via the sensorsduring the trip but it would appear from other threads on here that they are not always to be trusted.  I understand that diesel can be anywhere, I suppose it's just that I wondered if suspension settings can have a major influence on situations like this.  Have found settings on the site so intend to check where mine are in relation to the approved or tried and tested ones

Why?

Well, a friend was just in front of me at the time and suffered no issue.  I've never heard the rumour and wondered if anyone else had.  Never happened to me before in almost 40 years, tyres good etc.  Perhaps my suspension is badly set up which might have contributed.  Just looking for answers really.

I really like the look of these.  Expensive but so much better looking than the tubular ones.  Having almost binned it a couple of weeks ago when I lost the front ( roundabout + heavy rain + diesel is not a good combination )  I have been looking into crash bars.  Just on the subject, and something that perhaps would be better on a new post, a mate of mine told me, after my little scare, that he had heard that the GTR could be prone to losing the front end.  Anybody else ever come across this rumour???

Are your engine bars the genuine Kawasaki items...loke like a heavy metal bar which is mounted to the frame and runs along the side of the fairing then appears to stop  (think the part no. is 123CPS0032 )  or are they the tubular type??

The Market / Garmin Cradle Free to good home
August 22, 2016, 04:18:45 PM
This Garmin cradle came attached to my GTR but doesn't fit my 660.  No idea which model it does support but I'm sure someone will know.  The inline fuse has been removed and the flex is quite short as it had been wired into the front brake switch.  Free to anyone who wants it.

Indeed.  worth committing that to memory.

Thanks O.C.  Have made a small extension which makes life so much easier    Just need to reroute the cable from Garmin charging cradle and put a couple of bullets on the end and " Hey Presto "
