Thanks for all the replies; seems like the 'piece of string' question. I'll probably stick with what I know.

Bugger! I thought I had it pinned down to the two. You're right about the Michelin 'cos a bit of stone did for mine but it was squared off anyway.

I know this has probably been done to death but which way do I go; Battlax BT 023's or Pilot Road 4's?

Or to be more precise, my rear tyre might be, just found a screw firmly embedded, on the surface of the main rubber, not in the tread. Pirelli angel GT's, plenty of tread left on them  :censored:

Same as OC except mine was a piece of roadstone in my Pilot 4. Took wheel down to local guy who did mushroom type repair, wheel balanced, tenner all in. Research online produced BS stipulations on diameter of hole etc Seems also that Pirelli do allow repairs but other manufacturers don't?

Just got a puncture yesterday on rear Pilot Road 4GT. Either ongoing road repairs (gravel sprayed on hot tar with convey system in place!) or National Trust gravel car-park. Going to see if it can be plugged this pm. Anyone with wise words on repairs to these tyres?

Introductions / Yet another Newbie

Hi All. I've been following this forum for some time and I've gone and done it...picked up a '13 plate GTR yesterday. I love the dark green colour, unfortunately mine is the dark blue, but hey! it's sparkly and has the thin blue 'go-faster' stripe so it's all good really. Three years old and less than ten thousand miles; almost run-in.

I traded in my six year old F800GS, over 38000 on the clock and most of them mine. I did fancy the K1300GT but there are not many around and you do read some horror stories. Suffice to say, my local Blood Bikes no longer have BMs on the fleet!

Looking forward to: More power, four cylinder smoothness and fewer vibes at higher speed, better weather protection, better pillion ride, excellent luggage capacity, no chain adjustment, getting both feet on the ground (I'm a short-arse) and long distance comfort.

Slightly wary of: Higher fuel bills, higher insurance costs (need to look around on renewal), less up-right position, more tricky filtering and penalty points.

Okay, I've said enough now. I'll continue checking the forum for advice and the craic. Cheers.
