Looking good Raven.
What is the mount you used part no if you know .

It was the one that came in the kit, you can buy one direct from Garmin

Fitted the sat nav yesterday. it wasn't to bad to do using the connections as suggested

Placed it in a few places before deciding to go with the left handlebar mount. I liked the look of it between the handlebars but didn't like the way you needed to look down to see the screen.

Each to their own I suppose

A few options then. best is to wait until it arrives and then I can see what best for me

Another question is there a dedicated power supply for the sat nav??

Thanks Raven

It's very easy to change the mode. Here's a screen shot of the manual explaining all.

I know I am preaching to the converted, I've only had it a couple of weeks, but I really love this bike, despite no cruise control!

I've had Triumph triples since 2005, Sprint ST 1050, Tiger 1050 and the last three years on an Explorer, the sound and torque you get from them, especially the Explorer with the Beowulf exhaust is amazing, they are a bit agricultural though.

After reading reviews I expected the GTR to be like a Pan but more top heavy, its more like a comfy sports bike, just shows you should take reviews with a pinch of salt. The engine is sooo smooth and grunty, my new tyres have nearly lost their chicken strips too  :punk:

I didn't get many miles on the last year with the Explorer due to some broken bones so I sold it just before Christmas with the intention of putting the money towards the mortgage, I lasted less than a month without a bike in the garage before I started looking lol

Looking forward  to getting some decent miles on my new bike this year, even though we don't have any euro trips booked.

Paul.

Couldn't agree with you more  :agree: I've only had mine a few weeks also. Was originally looking for a ST1300 but couldn't find one locally, while looking seen the GTR so glad I bought this bike..

1400GTR Discussion / Gel Seat
March 27, 2016, 08:03:05 AM
Hi Guys

Picked up one of these gel seats today, should arrive next week all being well. They're supposed to be 25-30mm lower then the original. I'm a 29" inside leg and don't find my foot contact with the road to bad but hoping this may make it a little better.

My original seat was quite comfy as the previous owner put a gel insert in but did a crap job of recovering the seat so spoilt the look of the bike. Hoping this will give me a little more ground contact and improve the look of the bike.

It's all win win win really

Just been on the Kawasaki web site and yours is the 47 litre according to their information.

Yes just had a look and it is the 47 litre box with this base plate

This is the top box that came with my bike, I believe it's a Givi 39 litre.

I have a Shoei Neotec helmet and the wife has a Caberg. They won't both fit in which is a bit disappointing.

There is a quick release plate mounted on the original rack

Hi guys

Thanks for the welcome messages and the comments about my photos. O.C. - photography is not my trade I did used to be an accomplished amateur but no so much nowadays still got my camera and photoshop is a great help  :mfr_lol:

I've been out on the bike a few times now so getting used to it. When I bought it it had a Cee Bailey screen fitted and a set of handle bar risers I took these items off. I didn't like the screen as it was to tall for me I would rather look just over the top then through the screen so I'm finding the standard one just fine so far. I'm contemplating re-fitting the risers just to see if it makes any great difference to the riding position.

What are your thoughts on the gel seat are they any great benefit??

Thanks again for the welcome messages
