Well it's all sorted now. Wired it into the spare accessory connectors by the glove box. Wasn't arduous. So thanks for all the tips and advice.

I did notice a design flaw though - there is a point where the wiring looms from the handlebars loops back and sits over the top of the left air intake duct. The duct has a joint that is secured with a metal band (jubilee clip or similar). I noticed it had a sharp-ish edge to it and was highly like to cause some significant chafing to the wiring above it, especially as the steering moves from lock to lock. I put some duct tape around the intake joint to create a smoother surface over which the wiring runs and to separate the sharp edges from the contacting the wiring looms. Not perfect but it should work. I recommend having a look to see if any damage has been done to the wiring and protect as necessary.

Thanks All,

I'll have a little go at it later.

Thanks BigAlan but its the top of the fuel tank, underneath the plastic cover - just behind the steering yoke.

The location you mention, have I got to dismantle the fairings and covers to gain access to it?

Hello All,

I've not a service manual nor any wiring diagrams, so can anyone advise whether there's a safe power supply I can solder into for my new TomTom? Anything under here?

All help appreciated!

Sorted. Thanks.

Just bought a TomTom Rider 400. Not got it on the bike yet (I'm after a stem mount), but I've had a test run in my car with it and it seems to be pretty good. I'll try to report further once I've got it set up on the bike and tethered to my helmet....calm down...bluetooth tethered.

Sorry to drag up an old post but...

...Does anyone have one of these farkels made up that they're not using anymore or would someone be able to make me one up. Happy to pay reasonable costs. I'd just crack on and make one myself but I've not got any spare time at the moment and TBH, the RAM screw-in butt plug option doesn't look too convincing, at least not from a security perspective.

Mine has seen 165Mph on the speedo

I had a similar experience on a Blackbird I had. Only I was splayed over the tank. This should be a more comfortable missile, I sense.

Hello All,

This looks to me like an add-on, but what's it's purpose?

Does anyone recognise it? Please let me know.  My thoughts are that it's a camera mount but why there?

Well, the bike arrived yesterday. Chuffed to bits. I went out for a little blast and ended up setting my hair on fire.

Hello All,
I joined the forum a little while ago, with the aim of considering a GTR to buy. Well I have now! I spied a 2012 green model with just over 5k miles on it, from tinterweb. Made a call, a little haggle, deposit paid and consequently I take delivery of it next Friday. A little unorthodox for me as I don't like buying anything without having a look at it in real time. So when it rolls off the back of the truck, what should I be looking for, apart from the obvious (two wheels, V5, a good kickin' etc etc) before I accept the bike?

Looking forward to getting in amongst it with the bike. Cheers in advance!
