After 7 years of riding all over the UK and up to Norkapp and down to Spain I've just chopped the GTR in.
I've never liked Harleys and maybe one day when I'm old (only 62!) I'll get a BMW. I took a Ninja Z1000SX out in the pouring rain a couple of weeks ago and was really impressed. My wife came with me to East London Kawasaki yesterday and was happy with the pillion seat so the deal was done. Kawasaki are doing £1,400 off in June and they gave us a fair £5k on the GTR. (Lloyd Cooper in Watford had offered £4.5k.)
Let's hope it's as good as the GTR has been.
Ride safe everyone.

I hate to mention it after the event but to get your bike ULEZ compliant costs £175, I live in khans fifedom so had to get mine done. I ride my GTR to work everyday about 30 miles each way around the M25 and of course use it for holidays, but love Guzzi's too.

They did both my 1100 1995 Guzzi Carb. Sport and my 2000 Guzzi injection V10.
No changes required to either bike.
Some of the jap manufacturers are able to supply compliance certificates for older bikes, I've certainly heard that Honda are very helpful.

My seat is starting to fall apart as I'm now doing 300 miles a week to work and back.
Do you still have your seat, if so can you post some pix please?

Quote from: Lonewolf on October 20, 2021, 04:31:08 PMFunnily enough I watched a press review of this only yesterday on Richy Vidas YouTube channel. It looks a cracking bike and the TFT on it is awesome, not as good as on my GSA but still awesome.
I had a guzzi stelvio before the gtr so don't want to go the adventure bike route again. Having said that the Harley pan American really impressed me. Trouble is hd's are ridden by poseurs or gang members and I don't want to join either.

It's got a chain which is a mark against it, other than that it's got the lovely K5 engine and an extended sub frame for pillion comfort.

Not convinced but it's the first bike I've even considered since buying the gtr in 2017. Off for a test ride at Letchworth Suzuki soon.

We were going to Mandello for the Guzzi 100th anniversary celebrations on our 1999 V10 Sport, but thankfully it was cancelled. So instead we went down to the UK owners club meet in North Devon as they had rooms as well as camping this year.
The traffic was terrible and there were heavy showers for all the journey down. But it was still good to get out for a ride and we met a friend down there who we hadn't seen for two years. As we were out and about we went to Blue Anchor Bay in Somerset on the way, really lovely. Pic of cafe at BAB with our heavily modified 1994 1100 carb Sport.

Just had a nice 1900 mile ride up to Scotland and back avoiding motorways after York. I planned the route using tomtom my drive webpage. You can zoom into the map which makes sure you don't miss roads like the B9031 when visiting for the first time. As well as being able to drop the file onto your tomtom it can also save a route as a .gsx file if that's of use to non tomtom owning users.

Wohoo, first holiday in 18 months.
Don't understand/care about a shipload of expensive tests so we went to Scotland.
Never been further north than Edinburgh, we had a lovely time and only got wet once. You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment.

Throttle reset doesn't work, I'm always 2 up and it makes the snatch so much more noticeable at low speed.
Same with the last bike I had bought new in 2009.
It's because of the emission requirements and I'm afraid the only answer is a remap, I used the people near Peterborough too.
They were a bit odd but I can't fault their work.
They said they were going to put a pic on their facebook page back in 2017 as they didn't get too many gtr's.

I had big problems setting up my SV1000 a few years ago and used https://www.mhracing.com
He set the bike up perfectly for solo riding and also recommended changing the tyre pressures.
Money well spent, and not a lot of money either.

The 2 burger stalls were on the outskirts, there wasn't a single bike in the town itself.

I was being facetious Ray.... I lived just outside Grange-over-Sands, (which is on the opposite shore of the Morecanbe estuary) for 10 years  and the whole area is very pretty, a one day visit doesn't do justice but you will enjoy your time there, I hope that it isn't too busy with traffic.
You were right OC, Morecambe is a rather sad place. 15 mins away however there are some lovely roads. Kirkby Lonsdale doesn't welcome bikes anymore but Hawes was packed with bikes.
We stayed at the Midland Hotel, don't bother massively overpriced and a bit run down. There's a nice Best Western there if you're staying up there.

We'll find out next weekend, close to the Yorkshire Dales and of course Sunday @ Kirby Lonsdale. Fingers crossed, on the plus side no bloody tolls getting there like the Italian Lakes last year.

Chopped in my Stelvio in 2017. One of my better decisions (although I still have a 1100 Sport and am on the hunt for a Centuro) I think we may be going as far as Morecombe this year.
This was us in 2018, Calais to Travemund to Helsikni to Norcapp to Kristiansand and back via Denmark.
