So has anybody gone for this deal ???

Got mine delivered today by DPD so knew within 1hr when it was gonna turn up 8)

Have to say I'm very impressed with both the rack and the adaptor plate which you do need to get as its made for that rack.

Must say for under £100 the mighty Kwak could go that little bit further  ;)

Hmm.... I'm a bit confused!  8)

Yes - I do have the "large org. Kawa top-box".
Yes - It do wobble a bit....
No - I have not seen any sign of damages!

Would the sw-motech alu-plate do the trick? What else? Can i switch-over the "top-box-lock-thingy" to the sw-motech - that's it?
Or should I also buy an sw-motech "thingy" adapter... to have the big org. kawa-top-box fitted again?

/H

I'd get both if I were you and yes they will sort the wobble out. Call the guy from the other thread and mention thie site for the discount.

Thanks. You'd probably notice more of a difference if I could take a pic with mine next to a seat untouched

Be interested to see how you did this too please ... that seat is not so good for pillion riders. Has it changed the rider position - I find I slip forward to?

Wouldn't to lower the seat for me - as already a bit low. Where did you get the gel inserts from?

Thanks

You must be tall mate  :o ;D

I'll take some pics of the seat in a while ( wish I'd took some while doing the job but forgot  ::) :-[ )

I got 2 of these gel pads:
http://www.danmedicasouth.co.uk/shop/motorcycle-gel-seat-pad/

What I did was take off the staples on 1 side only and back and front so could fold the cover off the seat showing the foam.
I then used very large stanly blades to cut out the shape I felt would suite me and the wife.
I then used the pads as a template and then cut out the foam so they would sit in the cut outs.
I then used my electric staple gun to restaple the cover back on and used a stanly to cut away the excess cover.

Its a risk only u can take, I've ordered both and if I feel the motech 1 is no better and I can use the 1 that came with the box ill send it back

Which is better for a Givi box, such as the MAXIA 3, the SW Motech alu rack, or the full Givi mounting kit (the one which adds extra support)? The SW Motech rack is obviously easier to install, but is the Givi kit more stable, or not much different?

I wouldnt be able to comment on the givi kit but I myself have ordered the Motech kit and rack.
As Pembs says:

I have the sw motech alu rack and mono plate adaptor on my bike, top box does not move at all and there have been no issues either with stability at autobahn speeds  ;D

Thanks for that - Any idea on the amount he'll give?
I got the lot for just under 100 delivered so that was about 10% off

I hear what your saying WS and am happy to spend to mod and improve on what I've got.

My peeve is that the OEM rack is not fit for purpose so IMO the mighty Kawa should address this.
