Hi

I am a recent joiner and GTR1400 owner, absolutely everything that you need to know is in here somewhere and if you cant find it then someone will always point you in the right direction.
Before buying my GTR I tried the new RT, a K1300GT and a Trophy.  When I decided to change my old bike I had my heart set on a K1300GT, I rode one and it was great and I was about to buy it until I thought that I might as well at least try the others.  The Trophy was too big and a bit boring...the GTR took my breath away.  It was just so easy to ride, you can amble around nice and gently or you can launch it...hit 4500 rpm and hold on.  I bought the GTR and love it.  Costs less to service and was £1000 cheaper than the BMW and a lot more fun.  A couple of days ago I missed the heated seat though!

Just out of interest what sort of improvements does a remap with Hilltop make.  I guess the principle thing for me would be low down torque etc.  Does it have an impact on fuel economy and does it need to be declared to my insurer?  I live about half and hour away so would be interested in getting them to do it.

Rode it home gently in the pouring rain...very careful
Took my wife out on it...very careful
First time out on my own...10 minutes and then a rear puncture and FI warning flashing ocassionally.
TPS works though.  SOOOOOO frustrated!

Picked it up yesterday...it looked fantastic in the showroom...unfortunately by the time I had ridden home through the pouring rain it wasn't so good but it will clean well!

I'm going to put the pannier protection film on but I was thinking about the side spoilers as well but I'm not sure how effective they are.  Has anyone any experience of them?

Is there anything else that I need to do/check/add to keep my expensive toy happy?

Hello

I have just joined as I have just purchased a 2012 GTR1400 and collect it on Wednesday.  Had my last ride on my trusty 1250 Bandit GT yesterday...it was a little sad but it was a little agricultural after riding the GTR!

I was torn between a K1300GT and the GTR but the GTR was more fun on the test ride and I couldn't understand why I was having to pay so much more for an older bike with a German badge.  Also the GTR was more comfortable for me...the GT Fairings were in the way of my shins whenever I needed to put my feet down.
Anyway. there looks to be lots of information in here so I will have a good look and probably ask a lot of daft questions.
