I have the MRA screen too, and recommend it.

Just out of interest, both my tpm's were changed as part of some other work by a Kawasaki dealer (Frasers, Gloucester) and the cost for those two items was £266.00...

Scary-how often do you have to feed it or does it just take a bite when it's hungry...

Just as a 'heads up' in case someone else gets the same issue. It was the 'kill' switch. The first thing I checked before working through the system. There was no obvious fault, even checking contacts inside the switch as one of the first moves. Found it by accident (read 'good fortune') whilst holding the starter button down and wiggling wires and contacts as a last, last resort I put my hand on the handlebar and brushed the cut out switch which was 'on' and didn't visibly move: Engine started! I have fiddled about with it but there is no rhyme or reason, just the lightest touch makes it on or off.  I will change it-as I say, just a bit of info in case...
Much obliged for the support and suggestions by the way.

Thank you very much for going to so much trouble, it really is appreciated. I changed it, pressed button and no 'clunk' from solenoid plus no start-so I guess it's a question of tracing through the wiring, fuses seem ok and cleaned the starter button and kill switch.

Does anyone know please, if the starter solenoid on the pre-2010 and the post 2010 are interchangeable? Ta in advance...

The lousy back brake makes it hard, in my experience, to slow ride properly and balance it against the clutch, have to keep dabbing a foot down. Thought it might be me losing the' touch' so it's helpful to read the opinion of others' on the rear brake. Though, of course, I might actually be losing the touch too...

A solid piece of kit, really a kind of rocket propelled sofa, downside-a bit heavy for manoeuvring on foot. Very reliable in my experience and Kawasaki dealers as good as anyone else. Most owners seem to make some alterations to handlebars, seat/ screen to suit personal preference for long hours in the saddle, but you'd probably do that with most bikes, and there will be lots of opinions on those additions on this board. Best bike I have owned in a very long time and I'd say, just go and get one for the best price you can bargain for...

I would be interested in that, I live not far away from there and wouldn't be staying over, but would love to come along and join-in otherwise.

It was always this way tapps...if some of them had seen, or far worse still experienced, the agony that is apparently associated with skin grafts as a result of accidents through not wearing the correct clothing, then they simply wouldn't behave that way   :nono:

In my opinion their is a marked difference between a 'Biker' and a 'motorcyclist'

Well Said...

General Discussion / Starter Motor not Working...
March 28, 2018, 09:35:02 AM
Hi All, My bike has been overwintered in a shed under a cover. New battery fitted, press starter and-nothing. No 'click' or whirring noise, it's just dead. I suspect the starter relay as everything was fine when put away-perhaps corroded terminals or some such, anyway it seems a good place to start. Checked fuses, and all OK, but can't seem to track down the relay, I have a copy of a workshop manual showing it to be in the battery compartment but I can't see it. Any suggestions, help or ideas as to where to look next would be most welcome before I start taking off all the panels to track it down, and I know it will be behind the last one! It's a 2011 bike, thanks in advance for any suggestions.
