1400GTR Discussion / Bike gone !
December 19, 2013, 09:24:35 PM
Well, after 3 great years with the GTR it's time for this old fella to move on to the next bike, and possibly the last, who knows?
After visiting the show at the NEC, me and my missus were looking for a replacement bike, something a bit lighter and loads of comfort for her. Checked out a few, Tiger 1050 Sport, KTM, Caponord 1200...... and the winner was, by a country mile, the Verseys 1000 with free full touring panniers and top box, centre stand and heated grips. Bike is in Pearlescent White, brand new, and ready to rock.
A great big thank you to all on this forum, even if some of us don't add, we do lurk and learn. I for one am not technical, but was able to sort screen,  fenders, pipes etc. just by logging on here, and how good is that, to mix with like minded people who you might never meet ?
So it's off to the Verseys gang for me, I will love you and leave you,
                                                                                           Stephen

As hard as I try not too, my top box and side panniers are always full of stuff whenever I go anywhere with my missus for a 'few days'  Please please tell me, if you find a moment or two, where do you pack your tent, 2 x sleeping bags, cooker, pots pans kettle, food, water carrier, mugs utensils et all, when you go camping for 3 nights- then there's your waterproofs, and all the other bits and bobs, I do bed and breakfast, but would like to camp (tent that is)... please advise wot you have on board for your 3 nights, ta

Now then Tingly, my missus only 5' 5" and when I lowered the pillion pegs a couple of inches, she said it made a world of difference to her comfort whilst touring. Just a thought xx

Screens will drive you daft, 'till you get it right. £175 is quite alot to be 'still not sure'  MRA Vario was my choice, and has proved to be ideal ( for me) xx

A big thank you to all the lads who helped with the recovery of my bike from the bogland at the side of the road today. No damage at all, seems it was the best place to land, nice and soft. Good to put some faces to names and look forward to the next meeting, perhaps when all the ice has melted and things warm up a little xx

I regret throwing away my black plastic refuse-sacks, which, when filled with all our holiday gear, fitted snugly into my panniers. Did I mention i've replaced them ?
